Subject: I let it go!
This is a true story. A little embrassing, but true nonetheless. Yesterday I was doing my swim and it was really going well. I have been feeling very comfortable in the water lately! Well on around lap 31, I had a different feeling that I have never had in the water before. I had to FART...in the middle of a swim! Has that ever happened before to anyone?? So here is my thought process.

1. Ok just let it fly and keep swimming.
2. Wait till I got to the other end of the pool, less people around.
3. Flip turn, extra propulsion
4. Squeeze it tight and see what happens.

I just kept thinking, Damn I do not want bubbles coming up so everyone sees it, but am I making enough bubbles with my regular swim anyways? I can't really look back and see if there are disguising bubbles already! By this time I am almost laughing in the water at this stupid situation, so yeah, I let it fly and kept going.

Moral of the story: Stay in front of me if we are racing together! LOL

(I know it is a crazy thing but I was telling my wife and thought it was a funny story for here)

Let 'er blow!  The worst that can happen is that you get the pool to yourself.

I a sport where people willingly pee their pants, a fart is no big deal. Assuming of course, that it is actually a fart.

No worries... let 'er rip!

I actually like how the gas bubbles get trapped in my Jammers for a few seconds before they make their way out.

Yeah, I've been there, I was pretty pissed off, and embarassed at the same time! I've also let a few go in the pool, no shart yet though... maybe I shouldn't let 'em rip anymore.

this is truly as funny as the men's locker room thread.

I am sure I have let one rip whilst swimming - but I did not contemplate it so long.....figure I could use the extra power.

    thanks for making me laugh!

my son told me that since I got him jammers he has not tooted in the pool.....no more baggy bathing suit to hide in!

Save it all up for your OW wetsuit swim...much more buoyancy...you could probably reduce your 100 splits by 2 seconds...(wait, are there any USAT rules against that?)...

I'll second the validation of the bubble measurements of Hip rotation.  Experienced this at least 10-laps this morning.   I usually tie my Jammers tight so they did not have an easy excape.

2 Soft tacos last night with extra SALSA!!!!!!!

The worst is when you do it at the end of the lane, turn and swim back through it when you need to take a breath. I guess that's Karmas payback from the othe swimmers.

My convenient pool is open for public lap swimming from 7 - 8 PM, which is too late to just skip dinner altogether beforehand.  Fortunately for other swimmers, it's usually sparsely attended enough for everyone to have their own lane.  I'm with the jet set.  Holding that stuff in only slows you down.

yep, I say just let her rip!  If you're luck you get a little air pocket and you might be a little more buoyant.  just don't burn a hole in your suit.

Yep, had this problem last night during the kick set at Master's swim (thank goodness I had a lane to myself). The worst part is getting to the lane to turn around and the bubble makes its way up the back of your swimsuit. I just try to splash around alot during the kick set.

Can you imagine if there was someone behind you drafting just as you let the F-bomb loose?? They'd keel over and just float belly up like my poor goldfish 'Sushi' did.
