Its official. There will be more BT folks at this race, than any other place that I've been.

We might need a party tent or something.

Way cool! As June 1st approaches, let's try to line-up a gathering spot on-site before the race. It would be great to place names with faces... and to get even more fired up for a great event.

Good idea, would love to meet some of you!

I'm in! Officially registered as of Saturday morning. Probably won't make any of the practice runs, but would definitely be cool to hook up race day. Let me know!

I just made the cut-off. I'll try to find some of you. I just finally met the infamous "Trixie" and "TriOK" at Kensington last week. It's fun to meet fellow BTers. You can't miss me with my grey Cervelo with pink handlebar tape, pink bento box and pink attire Hopefully I'll be first across the line

Wow, 13 people.  That's awesome.  I could probably bring one of those white canopy tents.

I just signed up for the wait list, I wanted to finish dances with dirt 50k and the nashville marathon first, just to make sure I survived.
Tweaked my knee, but I should be ok by then. If i cannot get in will come out to cheer the bt gang on.

This is my first Tri as well and I am looking forward to the new challenge. The workouts have been intense and exciting but the swim scares me. I started training 6 weeks ago and my swimming isnt getting any better. I live in East Lansing, does anyone know a good swimming coach/trainer/class.

Welcome Sundevil!

I don't know of a specific coach, but it looks like the MAC (Michigan Athletic Club) might have a decent swim program for adult.  Give them a call and see if they can help you out.

I worked there while in college.  It was a fun place.

Talking about water temp...I'd REALLY like to get an open water swim or two in before Hawk Island.  Anyone brave enough to get in the water and take me for my first open water swim in the next two weeks?  I live near Island Lake/Kensington.

I'll be ready for an OWS here in MI the weekend after this coming one.  I guess that would be the 24th.  I haven't done one yet this year.  I'm going to get an ocean swim in this weekend though.

I was thinking about heading out to Hawk Island and going through the actual course, if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I'll probably try to jump in the water out at ILRA (trout lake) the weekend before the race (Memorial Day) and/or sometime that week leading up to it.

Ill be in TC over memorial day weekend, I plan to do a few days of OWS at a few of the lakes up north. Wet suit required at this point. I might even try to brave torch lake...we'll see.

I called the MAC and they do offer private lessons and classes for non-members. Prices are slightly higher for non-members but I might check out a few classes later this summer.

Unfortunately, I might have to front crawl/paddle my way through hawk island but Ill use this summer to improve my technique and efficiency.
