Subject: Chicago Area Bike Fit
I may be going to the Chicago area one of the next weekends. I still need fitted on my new tri bike (my first) and am not totally sold on any of the fitters in my area as I think most have a road bike specialty or mentality. Would it be worth it to get fit at a trishop in Chicago? and if so where? I'll be going to Romeoville, but don't mind a little drive to get a good fit. I've got a long summer on the saddle ahead with IMLOU ending the season.

Check out this link.  The one I would avoid is Plank Road.  Don't know anything about the others.

I can't speak from experience, so take this for what it's worth, but I've heard good things about Mission Bay (they are a tri shop) and Get-A-Grip. The latter is pricey, at about $300. I'm trying to decide first when I should get a "real" fit and then between one of these two shops.

not sure about the fit I get there. He had me at a 80 degree seat angle as my ideal angle. Seems kinda off to me since you will never get a bike at 80 degrees.

I got a fit at the bike shoppe of glen ellynn for my roadie and I am very happy about one I got, and they when I went for a tri bike they helpful.

I like the people at mission bay (no idea about fittings) but I do not think they fist certified.

I was fitted at Get A Grip. They are pricey but know what they are doing. I've had no issues so far with the fit.

yeah I just got fitted with them. The experience was good. I think the fit was good but time will tell.

I second Get a Grip on Fulton.

Kevin and the crew are fabulous and thorough. It is a bit pricey, but they literally spend like 3+ hours with you.
