I chalk mine up to a complete lack of creativity. I signed up for BT the same week I bought my Orbea, so I took the obvious. Seeing as I have no brand loyalty, it'll be misleading if I ever get another bike...

It's a title in my favorite series of books (Enders Game, etc. from Orson Scott Card)...I personally relate a little better with Enders Shadow (Bean) than Ender, hence the name. (But Bean isn't as catchy...) Best of all, I've gotten to debate the Enders vs. Bean primacy with many fine people here because of my user name.

It is a nickname I acquired because of my size -4'10, and my initials are SS.  I suppose you could  attribute it to the lack of my swimming prowess as well. Surprised

DB is short for Dirty Bottles which is the name of a pub in Alnwick, England. It's where I had my first Guiness!

The name of the pub is actually Olde Cross (formerly Cross Keys) but everyone calls it Dirty Bottles because of the following:

Over 200 years ago, the owner of the "Cross Keys" pub in Alnwick suffered a heart attack as he changed the display of bottles in the window and cursed the bottles as he died.

A few years later, the bottles were moved again only for the same fate to befall the person concerned. They have remained there ever since, untouched and covered in dust and cobwebs!

Thank goodness.  I thought you were going to say you were a Dan Rather fan.

Hours later and I'm still laughing...

Geek ON-

Orson Scott Card ROCKS! The Enders series is a top five of mine as well. Planet Treason is another fave of mine from Card...

Dieu Et Mon Droit - French for: "God and My Right". Numerous historical references. My gt-gt-grandfather (Naval Officer - Confederate States Navy), had it printed on a deck of cards while in Liverpool, England, in the 1860's in middle of the US Civil War.

P.S. Before anyone informs me who won the war, or who was the good guys, I know. I have been raised in Ohio, am a Veteran of the US Army and US Special Forces, and am a patriot of these 50 United States.

P.S.S. Too bad my motto is in French. Latin might be more interesting and less weeny.

Do you actually get crap for your great great having fought for the Confederacy? The story is pretty cool. Do you have the cards? What a great family treasure those would be! I kind of wish my ancestors had exciting histories, but they were just poor farmers in Scandinavia and then poor farmers in the upper Midwest.

I own a company and my assistant crowned me with the nickname Omega because she said that every decision ends with me.  She was being a smarta$$. I also collect Omega watches.

I don't usually get any crap about the Confederacy, and didn't on this forum either.  My gt-aunt has the cards.  I am an armature genealogist and between what I've discovered and what was saved their are hundreds of document and interesting items (included - and I need to get them micro filmed - three log books from his 1850's cruises while an engineer with the US Navy).

through an utter lack of creativity.

Was thinking of changing to Sharkbait, but that's taken.  And I don't think the mods would appreciate Snotrocket very much...

I like Rum and I like running. Plus, I'm with the USCG who used to chase rum runners way back in the day.

Also, Rum_Triathloner while wasn't taken, just didn't have quite the ring to it I was looking for.

About 6 years ago, I weighed around 225 pounds. One day, I was shaving at the sink and my wife walked in to brush her teeth. She looked at me and asked, seriously, "Why are you sticking your belly out like that?" I wasn't sticking my belly out.

I decided it was time to fish or cut bait. I found Men's Health, learned a boatload about exercise, nuitrition and how to lose weight the right, healthy way. I now weigh 188ish, the lightest I have been since high school.

I have competed in triathlons, beaten cancer, and ridden 100 miles in the Lance Armstrong Challenge. I love life, and it's because everyday I wake up and make a conscious decision to either fish or cut bait.

I think I have posted this before, but I use Elvis all the time, especially to annoy my kids. They especially love it when the Restuarant host(ess) calls out "ELVIS" really loudly. 15 references my high school football number. Now that I am full into mid-life crisis age, have to look for anything to hold onto the glory days.
