Holy SH*T...

Conviction: Attempted Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance

I've got someone who actually used a child in a sexual performance down the street...not even attempted!  Yet another time when I'm glad I'm childless.

according to snopes it's false. Of course the two links on the website should have been obvious clues...

surfwallace - 2008-05-07 11:42 AM I call BS. First, I looked at my address. It had someone who looked like they lived at my address. Not my name nor anyone that lives on the street as I know everyone. ETA-These are new homes so no chance of someone living here before still coming up. Secondly, I did the search again and everything has changed. I would be very suspicious of this website is all I have to say. Must go run spysweeper... ETA: What the hell is "intimidating in the 1st degree"?

I'll second that BS.

Put in your info (or a neighbors address) and hit search, then keep hitting search and see all the different results it give.

For my area it put several smack in the middle of farm fields.

I was also suspicious when it showed someone living at the grocery store down the street.

Yep. BS. Anyone that gets convicted of Attempted murder in the first degree would not be living on your street at age 18.  They would be in the clink.  I also ran some names I saw, and the people are not in prison.  That is public information on your states department of corrections website. Now go look up all your old high school rivals.....

Snopes said they also run a Medical Adoptions site, where you can pick a third world child to adopt and then harvest their organs. Very fake, but funny in a sick way.

I was interested in seeing where they pulled there data.. and this is what the code says

/*
Description: Adds 6 random markers around location.
Parameters: start_point - the starting coordinates, lat/long
*/
function add_random_markers(start_point) {

 This is the function to add markers.. and this is the actual call

	/* Call the php file which will return the random text and associated marker icon*/
GDownloadUrl("get_random_text.php?num=" + total_markers, function(data, responseCode) {

 So clearly just random text

I agree that the site is random... but... what is to stop me from writing this function?

/* Answer a random number */
function get_random_number() {
    return 2;
}

That's not random.  Just because the name of the function has the word "random" in it, doesn't mean anything.

Straight BS. I was alarmed at first because I was looking at my old addresses. Then I looked here on Ft. Knox. It says there is a 72 year old sex offender living in WWII barracks that were demolished a couple of years ago.

thanks for looking out though.

Heh. I figured it out when I put in the address of the place I'm moving to, where everyone has 20-100 acres and it had just as many as in my current suburban neighborhood.

Totally fooled me...although I actually could have believed that the guy at the end of my neighborhood could have been convicted of assault with a firearm because he is an old cranky guy that always yells at kids for being "near" his yard and the guy 3 houses down is definitely creepy, I could believe that he would be capable of 1st degree sodomy and enticing a child for sexual entertainment.
