Extreme Veteran  664    Vancouver BC |  Subject: Oliver sprint results!Hi guys - I survived the sprint! results are here: http://www.raceheadquarters.com/results/2008/multi/OliverSprint2008.html (race report soon!) I am still in Oliver going back home tomorrow. but in a nutshell - happy with my results overall for first sprint - 106 out of 175 I think....42 out of 90 for females and 7/12 in age group. overall: 1:29:32 (my goal was <1:45) swim - 17:11 bike - 38:23 run - 30:32 (YIKES!!!) - my run REALLY sucked! I had to walk about 5 minutes of it - this area really needs some attention in my training - both just running in general - but particularly bricks - as I am capable of a sub 53 minute 10K. anyway - just wanted to share! catch you up with more details tomorrow or tuesday!

Nope- that wasn't me Paul - we left about 9:30 this morning....sorry I didn't get to see you too! I actually THOUGHT I saw you on the run after the turn around point - this person was behind me....but in seeing the results - it clearly wasn't you LOL! Has Paul said how he rocked this one!?!? I am happy with everything except the run - even my first open water swim (well I did try out my wetsuit the day before in lake Osoyoos)....the swim did feel LONG though! But I even had a faster swim time than the person who came first in my age group - who also happens to belong to my tri club....she ended up beating me by about 9 mins....so she clearly made it up on the bike and run! I've got a story to share about how I almost LOST my bike on the drive up - and had to make an emergency stop in Penticton at the Bike Barn for a new bike rim due to damage that occurred to my bike enroute! got lots to do at the moment though - so you'll have to wait lol! |
