Swim
Comments: After living in philly all my live i was actually looking forward to swimming in the river. I've only heard good things about the water from people who did it in years past. I thought the water was great. The 1st 200 yards the swim was tough, i couldn't find any space, there was people all around me. Finally i was able to swim with no one around me, either i swam away from them or they swam away from me. Once i was alone, i was able to get into a decent rhythm. In no time at all i hit the turn bouy and i was swimming to the beach. What would you do differently?: I think i took it too easy, but i felt good while swimming. Transition 1
Comments: Long run in T1, but everyone had to do it so no big deal. I thought my T1 went pretty well considering it was my first race of the season. Bike
Comments: 2 loop course with a handful of hills. It wasn't my best bike, but over all i was ok with it. I am sure i could have pushed a little harder. The bike was very uneventful for me. The course was packed with people. A lot of people were riding on the center line which made it hard to pass. Not sure if they don't know they should be riding to the right or if they thought since the course was closed they could ride anywhere. What would you do differently?: go faster. Transition 2
Comments: Not the best T2 i've ever been a part of. Run
Comments: OK here is where the wheels feel off. I have been working on my run for years, and i hoping this is the year for my run. After this run it seems i have a lot more work to do. :) Coming out of T2 i couldn't find any speed, i just settled into a slow rhythm. As i hit the 1st half mile, my back started to kill me. It started in my lower back and then worked it's way to the middle of my back and just stayed there. A few weeks ago i had some back issues, but that wasn't hurting at all. I just tried to keep running hoping the back thing would work it's self out, and i could pick up my running pace. I hit mile 2, 3, and 4 the back feels no better, as i hit 4 1/2 the back starts to feel better and i feel like i am running faster, but not a whole faster. As i hit mile 5 my back felt much much better and finished with a strong last mile. Along the run course it was great seeing other Team TRIumph members, and other tri friends. What would you do differently?: Not sure if my back issue was from a poor bike fit or if it was just one of those things.. I'll do some longer rides in the coming weeks and see how i feel. Post race

woke up at 4am, got my final things together. Carpooled with my teammate Michelle. Stop for a quick bite. Set up transition, then got on the bus to head over to the swim start.
No real warmup. Just talked with my teammates.
