Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: Life Time Fitness Triathlon - Olympic Wow! 20 peeps signed up for the Olympic alone...2 weeks out! This race is HUGE! Almost impossible to find anyone...I even lost track of my running group who I drove up with last year. We usually hang out just west of the restrooms/'concession stand' in the grassy area under the shade of the trees. I know it's a hard race to try and meet up at, but I'll try and wear my white BT shirt with 'sparco' written on it in permanent marker...don't be afraid to stop me and say 'hi' if you see me...other than that, I'll be napping between transition close and Olympic start. Good luck everyone... |

Veteran 249 | Subject: RE: Life Time Fitness Triathlon - Olympic got2run - 2008-06-28 7:52 AM Am really excited about it. How is the lake temp? I did not get an official reading, but I did step in the water earlier this week to feel how warm it is. I am assuming its in the low 70's right now. My parents have a place on Prior Lake and the water by their dock was 70 degrees yesterday and the water in Nokomis earlier in the week felt about the same. Hopefully we won't get a string of 90 degree temps before the race. If we dont, wetsuits maybe legal which would be great. |

Thanks for the link Rob. I did Turtleman (Oly swim distance) last year without a wetsuit...I'd much rather do Lifetime WITH one . Here's the USAT rules: USAT / Series Wetsuit RulesAll Set Up Events Series will follow the wetsuit guidelines set forth by USA Triathlon. Those guidelines state:

Also I want to change it from the sprint to the olympic. She is going to call and find out but I figure I might as well check myself. |

To your first question.....No, you are not allowed to transfer names. You are allowed to transfer from sprint to olympic or vice versa for a $25 fee but its too late now. But regardless you can't transfer names so it does not much matter in your situation. |

Anyone game for a 20-30min swim in Nokomis? If not, hopefully you will see me...big guy with a lower leg tattoo sleeve. My off day is Thursday. I may get in a swim EARLY Friday morning before work (6:30). You'll have plenty of company. Last year I swam in Nokomis the day before LTF, and there were about 5 other triathletes swimming at 6:30 in the morning. Most of us swam just inside/outside the white swim boundary buoys. I'll have to check out the distance from far left buoy to far right buoy...I'm thinking it was about 77 yds... |

I try real hard not to notice a single thing going on in the water when I'm swimming! Remember people that I am body marking! I have super short sandy-brown-blonde (OK dishwater color) hair. Teeny, tiny gal. When do you all get your bib numbers? Cause I can be checking out numbers to find some of you. |
