But Sunday night's dinner was rather nice, if I do say so myself. We're getting into the thick and heavy part of vegetable season, so that's what I was trying to use up. Salad: garden-fresh peas picked about an hour before dinner, blanched, over fresh lettuce, with mushrooms and radish seedpods sauteed in balsamic vinegar. Main: chicken, grilled and then quickly tossed in a skillet with some soy sauce and butter.
Sides: steamed broccoli; beets sauteed in balsamic vinegar and butter, served over wilted greens. Wine: I don't remember, but it was pretty good. Dessert: vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips. |
