Do any of you think it is necessary to drive up to Madison the day of registration to ensure I get in. Or do you think I could wait until spots open up on active. I am about 3 hours away and would rather not have to drive up there. I am willing to do it though if necessary. I hear it sells out pretty fast.

I think it's quite possible you will see a repeat in Madison of what happened in Lake Placid last month, which sold out on site.  In fact, due to this happening in Lake Placid, I expect even more people planning to make the trip to register on site.  I don't know this is going to happen for sure, but I think it's quite possible.  If it's really important to you to get in, I recommend the trip.  Why not make the best of it and head up to watch the race, too?

I am guessing that this race may sell out on site like Lake Placid. Last year, if I remember correctly, I believe it sold out online in about 20min and using active.com to register is not always smoot--or functional--at times.

Someone else correct me if I am not remember this correctly.

I would love to go up and watch the race but I have a 4 month old at home and have taken one to many nights away from the house so i think it would be best to make the drive up in the morning. I would hate to miss this race so I may make the drive. If I don't get on hopefully Louisville will still be open.

If things don't work out, you can race FL 70.3 and get a spot after the race for IM MOO.

My $0.2 is (based on my sister doing this race twice, well, 3x since she's signing up for '09, and my best friend doing it last year and also signing up for '09)...it will sell out and if you plan on participating, and you don't do any of the other options that our fellow BT'ers listed, than you will be out of luck.  My sister, best friend and I are are specifially going up on Saturday night so we can not only spectate on Sunday, but so we can stay over and the two of them can get up early to get in line to sign up on site.
