Swim
Comments: Typical me stayed to the back and side. Had to get past a couple breast-strokers (a little frustrating) and just swam. What would you do differently?: Train more! Transition 1
Comments: I put the elastic laces on my clip-ins the night before the race and it was a good call, easy on, easy off. My only problem was when my bike peddle got stuck on my neighbors milk crate, grrr! What would you do differently?: Banned milk crates???? Bike
Comments: I worked hard and used my gears well, but lack of training reared it's ugly head. What would you do differently?: Train more! Transition 2
Comments: I'm a good transitioner ;) Run
Comments: I was sure when I looked at my watch and saw that if I finished my run in 35 min I could = last years time, that I would. But...lack of training had it's effect and I didn't. What would you do differently?: Train more! Post race
Warm down: So, I knew that this wouldn't be a great race, but I went out planning on having fun. What I learned is...it's not fun to do a race you haven't sufficiently trained for. It was a hard lesson, but a good one. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training! Last updated: 2008-08-25 12:00 AM

We were up at 5:00 and had breakfast in the hotel. The staff at the Hampton Inn were terrific and set breakfast out early for all the racers. I had a bagel w/ peanut butter and hot chocolate.
My stomach was pretty messed up (not characteristic of me at all, so I was a little concerned) Got to the race with no problems and set up my transition area. the gal next to me was doing her first race and was taking up way to much space, but I remember that so just made a little square for myself. The the trips to the icky porta potties started. Went three times before my wave went out.
