Hey Judi, thanks for starting the thread. I'm Anne, just did my first sprint tri in July. I have a couple of races coming up in September and October, so this is prime running season.

The Black Flies sounds pretty bada**!!

Do we have a Team Captain?

No captain yet....any volunteers?  Last time I had the job the team fizzled so I have sworn that duty off

That is my fear. I'm not sure my fragile ego could take the humiliation.

Hi all!!

My name is Dee.  I'm from Canada where we have lots of black flies in the spring time.  They sure are nasty things. 

I've signed up for a mere 24 miles for this challenge.  I would love to get back into running on a consistent basis (and biking and weight training) and I figure this challenge could help me out.  I'm hoping I do 12 x 2 mile runs (3x/week).  Being the procrastinator I am it will probably end up being a single 24 mile run on the very last day

JR...are you in the army?  My brother did a couple tours in Iraq, was in the 3rd ID...he retired last year

Hey guys, my name is Jenny and I live in Central Oregon.  I don't have any races planned so I'm just doing this to keep me motivated and I can't let my team down!  My plans were to become an Ironman at Coeur d'Alene this year but I ended up getting a migraine during the second loop on the swim and was only able to finish the first loop on the bike, talk about a bummer!  So now I'm broke from all of my IM training, nothing to show for it and have no more money to sign up for other races, lol!  Running is my least favorite of the three but with all of the running I've done for IM training I've gotten to where I don't mind it anymore and want to try to keep it up.

Hi Jenny - That's awful about the migraine wrecking your IM, but it's amazing that you made it that far in the race feeling so bad. Maybe next year?

my name is antti, i'm from finland. at the moment i live in bahrain, just south of jr's camp. i work here as an air traffic controller. in my spare time i teach scuba diving and spend glorious time with my awesome wife aila and my to baby boys lauri(3yrs) and joel(21mths).

i'm in for the challenge with 50 miles. we have a sprint coming up in end of october here in bahrain (jr, try to get some leave and join the race. if ya want, i can get you the details)

I concur, Anne is welcome to keep tabs on the running.  Let's not let her down gang, it's hard being captain when the team fizzles (I've been on a few that did and it wasn't fun as eigther captain or teammate)

All right Black Flies! Let's encourage each other and win this challenge!!! I don't have a spreadsheet set up, maybe it's just as easy if we just post our running mileage right in this thread. Or you can email me, whatever works for you!
