I am looking for a place that will actually have some staff to give me knowledgeable advice on the type of shoe I need for my weight and running style What has everyone's experience been with the stores in Colorado. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

I've bought shoes at both Fleet Feet in Boulder and Boulder Running Company in boulder (obviously).  Both were excellent.

runner's roost in Denver is also good.

Runner's Roost. I've only been to the one in Ft. Collins, but they've always been very good to me.

Runner's Roost in Boulder is very good.  Fleet Feet is pretty good, too, but sometimes it's a little busy in there.  I don't like driving through downtown Boulder (Pearl St. mall) so I stick with Runner's Roost - I can get in and back home quickly!

I went to Fleet Feet in Boulder and got terrific service- they did a gait analysis - had me try on at least 6 pairs of shoes and really did great customer service. I also found out that they are going to begin carrying more tri stuff starting in March. I got there right when they opened so I was the first customer - they did get quite busy within 30 minutes. Thanks for the input everyone. Ended up going with Asics Evolution if anyone cares.. Thanks.

For the future, the Boulder Running Company store down south is really good too, and maybe a bit closer to you than driving to Boulder.  It's on Bowles and Wadsworth - I think they call it the "Denver" store??  They do the treadmill gait analysis and all, and carry some tri clothes too...

I hear good things about this place and plan on hitting them before I move. they do the filming while running for free.

i'm voting for Boulder Running Co. too. They've always seemed to me to be the most knowledgeable, thorough and willing to spend a good bit of time with me.

FYI, the Boulder Runners Roost shut down a couple years ago... but Fleet Feet, Runner's Choice (by McGuckin) and The Boulder Running Company are all very good (Boulder Running Company being my fav, but I got a heck of a deal on 2004 Gel-Kayano's at Runner's Choice.... should've bought 2 pairs).
