Subject: Thank you to an Amazing BTer! - IMKY 08

I became an Ironman in KY almost 2 weeks ago and for those of you racing and watching on-line you know that Mike Reilly, The Voice of Ironman, was not there welcoming us across the finish.  When I finished, I never got to hear "Abbie Feibush, You are an Ironman!"  I did hear something like "from Tiburon, CA....", but after months of training all I wanted to hear was "you are an Ironman" as I crossed the finish line, even if it was not going to be Mike Reilly announcing it.  I'm still glowing from my accomplishment, but hearing those words would have made it just that much sweeter.

Anyway, an AMAZING BTer read my race report and read a few days later in my log that I was a little disappointed at the finish line.  This BTer has some connections in the IM world and today my dream came true.  When I got home I had a voicemail from Mike Reilly congradulating me on my race and saying "Abbie Feibush... YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!  And by the way, let me know the next IM you do and I'll be there to welcome you home."

I have never met this BTer in person (I do know who it is), but I wanted to say THANK YOU!!!  The BT family includes some amazing people, I know because I was lucky to meet a lot of them in KY.  I am truely touched by your gesture, (you know who you are)....thank you for making the rest of my dream come true!!!

Now I just need to figure out how to make "Abbie Feibush You are an Ironman" my ring tone!!  Would that be too friggin cool??

Wow..that is pretty cool..way awesome!

BT is amazing... things that BT do for others even if they don't even really know them is amazing.

Mike didn't say my name..he was out in the finishing chute working the crowd but the other guy did a great job. I wish I had seen him and I would have high 5ed him or something but with the bright lights after being in the dark for so long I couldn't really see much well.

that is super cool. What a great gesture.

I was a little bummed about the same thing, but in reality, the crowds were yelling so loud, I don't think I would have heard the anouncer anyway.

I'm glad your dream came true, and its nice to think someone here would go to that effort, and for Mike himself to take his time to help make it come true.

Very nice!

So Mike Rogillio saying "Abbie Feibush, You are an Ironman!" just wouldn't do it for ya huh?

Congrats IronAbbie!

Congratulations on the voice mail.  Make sure that you save it for long training days and days when you don't want to train at all.  This is an amazing community of people!

Congats again!

Awesome story!!!  I agree that the little things can make all the difference when it comes to an "experience."

With your story in mind I have to give HUGE props to tnickerson for offering up IMKY finish videos to BT'ers.  I'm not in to the whole anonymity thing.  She deserves a lot of thanks for taking (a lot of) time to offer, edit and send videos to us...IM charges $20 and the video my brother and I got certainly had more camera time than what we would have gotten from the limited camera angle IM had at the finish.

Thanks! Anonymous BT'er for the Mike Reilly connection and Thanks! Tammy for the finish video!!!!!  Neither of which could have been done without the help of the BT community.

Way awesome Abbie! I too had a neat BT experience! As many of you know, my family couldn't be with me during this IM. Some BT'r knew it, and there was a message on the Ford motivational mile sign saying something like "stay strong, go BT!" I don't know who it was, but it made all the difference at the end of the race! We truly have a great community of CARING people!

BT people are the best!!  The training is so much more fun when other people are there to support you.  Meeting everyone was so wonderful.  It made the IM expereince what it was - amazing!!
