Expert 1152 wrightsville beach, North Carolina | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th HI ron. I've been bopping around most of the day and the speed is getting faster as the day progresses. Ditto w/ VL. I'm sure this will catch up.Is there anyway to get the display wider. Seems like ....well....it should be a full screen site. I am sure this is something you have thought of but....it really needs to be full screen. Almsot every page is very 'busy' with extraneous stuff. Not every page needs to have the full 'menu' on it. The photo pic of 'triathlon training for beginners' ia great for a front page but not for every page. same for 'recent perfomance articles' Great for a 'front page' but not needed on every inner page. same for the PM screen. PM screen area is small and there is way too much....stuff that is not needed when just PMing. PM and inspires are important modes of communication to keep the training and attitude going. However it is a bit tedious to work thru as the PM box is only a fraction of the page while there is lots of other stuff on top.Just a few 'full day' of use comments. Thanks for keeping us fresh. You are taking us to a new and greater level and 'its all good!' |

Extreme Veteran 475 Blaine, MN | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th the 'search' forum seems to be limited to specific content ... I tried looking for keyword 'reporting' and got nothing back. I looked for graphs and found one thread on Timex versus Polar. Maybe the 'search' indices are only against thread title? |

Coach 9167 Stairway to Seven | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th Agree that there are some pages with "extra" stuff that may not be needed on every page. I know your redesigned specifically for 800 pixel fixed width, but there seems to be a lot of extra stuff as the headers on every page making stuff more difficult to find. Not sure what the conceptutal differences are between groups of buttons along the top, bunched at the left top, bunched as a group below the header photo. All of this stuff makes the actual content bump down below the first display area. THere are twenty separate buttons on the front page to click on to get to different site content. Basic usability design would suggest that these should be able to be grouped into about five categories with submenus as needed. Obviously often used features should be hotlinked from the first page. Also, on the training log page, the list of buttons "blog view, calender, graphs, etc" are separated from teh actual training log by the ad banners. If you need the ad banners displayed, that's OK, but when then interfere with the usability of one of your best features, it seems like it'd be reasonable to bump things around a little bit. I realize that you did a ton of work on this, and have done a lot of site design myself so I can appreciate it. I am not being critical, just providing some first impression feedback from a GUI design point of view. |

Coach 9167 Stairway to Seven | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th Just another usability comment...the articles on the homepage are no longer grouped by topic...or maybe they are grouped, but there is no heading to go with the visual groupings that would help me find an article on a particular topic. It looks pretty, but I'm not convinced by looking at the design that I could find someting I was looking for. Also, the featured articles at the top, the performance articles at teh side and the commentary articles at the bottom seem to be arbitrarily placed. With the previous design, I felt like I could find what I was looking for, or at least browse through articles in an organized fashion. Again, I'm not trying to be critical, just some first impressioni comments on usability. As a former cartographer (map maker), having information buried by design drives me nuts. Design should be seamless with the information if you know what I'm saying. |

Resident Curmudgeon 25290 The Road Back | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th I can't get the "search" function to work at all, get a "The Page You Requested Cannot Be Displayed" error, and I've tried it several times, different topics, over the last 24 hours. Also, clicking on the "Last Post" no longer takes you to the last post, but to the top of the thread. |

Elite Veteran 777 flatland | Subject: minor issue Last post for a thread isn't anchored in the thread-post page...looks like there's no name=[postnumber] tags anywhere inside thread-post.asp, at least on a very quick skim of the page source. The link is correct on forum-view.asp (ie, it has #[postnumber]) but it's got no anchors in thread-post.asp. Does that make sense? It's a minor thing, just wanted to bring it up. The speed has improved dramatically, and I'm getting used to the new layout and overall I think the new look is really great. No problems otherwise, which is an amazing feat for such a complex rebuild. Good job and thanks so much for all the hard work on this site! |

Extreme Veteran 456 Dana Point, California | Subject: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th Thanks for responding back to me...I must say this is a "far out" site. The functionality and features are incredible. Here is what I did (I am a professed idiot). I went to my February training in an attempt to print it out, when I saw that it was 7 pages long, I thought I would get "cute" and "copy" the data in the Feb 1 to Feb 28 range. I then "clicked Run, Bike, Swim, data to copy, (I then surmised that I could paste it to excel of something), and when I went back to my calendar/log, all my S/B/R times were gone! Being an impatient bastard, I went back and re-keyed the February data the best I could (I follow a very regular schedule). So that is what I did. If I wasn't in such a rush to print out the month, this would not have happened. |

Champion 13323 | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th we are working on the print thingy... did you try the 'copy/move/paste' widget OR did you do a highlight-select-all? if the latter, from which screen? blog or calendar? if the former, i would suspect that even if trying the copy function (copy/move/delete - as long as you selected copy) in hopes of doing it your way, you still have to select a date range...and maybe u would have figured it out? u didnt select 'delete' from the dropdown did ya? Let me know the exact way and from what screens you tried to copy it... |

Extreme Veteran 456 Dana Point, California | Subject: RE: Issues/Resolutions for the 28th Specifically here is what I did: I opened beginnertriathlete.com, which launches right to my defaulted view. I clicked on Calendar (actual) and was viewing my actual February training data. Above the calendar is the "link" to copy/move/delete. I clicked on it and the window opened and asked "what type of action: I definetly selected COPY (not delete). I selected the first date range (21 to 2-28) then I selected destination date range 21-2-28. I clicked the bike, the run, the swim check boxes, and then clicked "go". I believe the next screen was back to my calendar and the training data was gone. However, my comments were all intact... That is about it sir. |
