I'm in for #8 (actually 7.97 if I count them up like Birkierunner did :-).  DNF's blow.  It's like a permanent asterisk on my IM resume.

Gotta get my left calf healthy first, tho.  I have a lot of running on my schedule before IM.  Hopefully I'll find some time to ride my bike, too...and swim at least a handful of times :-)

I'm in.  It will be my first im.  The most I've done so far is a sprint, and only one of those.  Yes, I am nuts, but I have a good coach and started training in August.  Everything was going along well until I got plantar fasciitus.   I am learning to like the elliptical machine.  Is anyone going down to Wisconsin....or up for some of you...to try the bike course this spring?  A group from Canada are heading down, myself included.

Post the date if you figure it out when the Canadians are coming to town and I might be able to sherpa ya with some others, eh!  I might be taking the reins on a MOO camp weekend since sounds like Birkie cant throw it together and could maybe work with weekend y'all are hitting town.  Still too far off for me to think about the race though.

It's about a 4.5 hour haul for me which I do plan on making at least 3 times this spring and summer.  Would like to make it a BT training weekend at least once.  Be fun to get a bunch of us together.

Ditto on the let me know.  I have more motivation to get out there this year since I am racing, plus if you want to make a weekend out of it I can take ya to some hills in the area that make MOO look boring.

It will be my first IM, also! (I am really looking forward to it)!  I would like to come to do the ride, also...It is about an 8 hour drive, for me...but, I have a sister who lives there...and can stay with her.  (She also signed up -> her first IM, too).

Has anyone purchased the On-The-Road Spinerval DVD of the Madison bike route?

When is the BT training weekend?

I have to fly, but I plan to get out there one time to ride part of the course. Maybe HHH or maybe I'll just come out and do the ride. I'd love to meet up with other BTers!

I'm in too... This is my first and I am REALLY REALLY excited!!!  I would love to ride the course a few times so please post when people are going out.  Any helpful suggestions for those of us who are new to this would always be appreciated... at least for me!   Now I just have to stay healthy for 10 months!

So that's why my wife left me umpteen messages ranting on about all these people stopping in, going "EEEAAAWWW" at her and leaving a mess in the toilet and kicking the kids off the Wii.

Ok, I'll talk to my people and get back to your people.  There are 14 of us here in London ON who are training together for Wisconsin, but I doubt all of us will be going.  I'll try to firm up a date.

I may have to consider making a trip to Wisc for an IM MOO training weekend to preview the course.

Maybe in June??

I just came across the IM MOO Preview video that Birkie and Scoobysdad made:

Thanks guys, it was very helpful.

That "helix" parking structure looks like a bummer.....

Naw, actually the helix is pretty cool.  Unless of course your guts are all in knots after 112 miles of riding and you just wanna blow the contents of your stomach all over the helix as your spinning in circles back up it Other than that, good stuff.

actually, its one of the coolest parts of the race, especially after the swim - the crowd makes you feel like a rockstar

Well, today they can make it a downhill ski ramp!  We're getting hit hard with a snowstorm today in this area - and you'll get hit harder being near Lake Michigan.

As Birkie said no worries with helix...The helix will be lined with hundreds of people screaming and cowbelling in your ear as you climp the ramp....Its actually one of the coolest moments of the day. The climb on the bike back up the thing kinda sucks though

What is every one's favorite spot during the race?  Besides the finish mine would be going into Verona.  The crowd is awesome.  I get goose bumps thinking of it.

By far its coming into Verona after the first and 2nd loops where people are lined up on both sides of the roads.    That one hill (the bigger straight up one - cant remember the road) is a close 2nd where they crowd the road like the tour de france.
