Hope all is well with everyone.  I'm trying to get back into the swing of school and homework again (not mine, but might as well be at times!).  I've got a time trial on Saturday with my running group.  I registered quite some time ago for a sprint tri on October 18th, but finding it hard to stay motivated with my swimming and biking, while trying to train for my HMs in December and January.  Is anyone planning on participating in the worldwide Nike 10K Human Race on October 24th? My running group is hosting one in my area so guess I'll be doing that.

Good luck to Julie on her HM this weekend and Cheri on her 5K ... waiting to hear if Helen is racing in a 25K ... and whatever else everyone has going on!

Just got back from an easy 2 mile run that felt a lot harder than my HR showed.  It's 9 pm, it's currently 83 degrees and "feels like" 92 degrees ... and it's October ... and someone actually has icicle Christmas lights up ... and lit.  What is wrong with this picture?  At least my pool has cooled off enough that I can jump in after my run and cool down.  Guess I won't have to worry about the lake being too cold for my tri the following weekend (although they are calling for a temp of 60 degrees this Saturday AM ... I'll believe it when I feel it).

Hope everyone is well!

I feel for you!  It was hot and miserable at home this week.  Now I'm in Colorado and there is snow on the ground!  Where the happy medium???

It wa 57 degrees and cloudy for my Saturday run ... it felt great!! Didn't really warm up much the rest of the day.  Today it was 68 degrees, muggy, drizzly.  At this point, the weather for next weekend is supposed to be beautiful ... 54 and sunny for my tri on Sunday.  Might be a bit chilly out of the water on the bike!

Julee, when are you planning on coming in to town?

When something shows up I read it

I actually ran yesterday!
At PT, after I had done all my exercises and was getting ready for my ultrasound, etc, I asked my therapist when I could try running; her response was "want to try now?" Of course, I said yes, so we headed over to the treadmill (Woodway) where I did 30sec walk/30sec run x4. My heel felt OK right after but I said we'd have to see how it feels later, after the ice wears off and I've been on it for a while. I definitely have some ache there, around a 2-3 out of 10; now I have to see how long that lasts. I don't yet know if this should be considered a success or a failure.

My pain peaked around 3-4 an hour or so after running, then backed off to around 2 a little while later, and then hung at 1 for much of the afternoon. It felt OK in the evening. This morning I was about a 1, just enough to remind me that I did something yesterday.

Hi everyone...

Sorry I have been away so long. Moving day for me was on September 24th.  I came down with an upper respiratory infection on the day of the move...was feeling somewhat better for a week and then came down with a staph infection in my finger that spread to my arm.  I am now on my 3rd round of antibiotics in just 3 weeks time.  I just can't seem to get my energy back.

Hope everyone is doing well.  I haven't been able to download Yvonne's picture.  When I get the energy to tackle some of the boxes I will hopefully find the cable to my digital camera.

Miss you all and will try to check in more often.

Take care ((hugs)) ...

Karen

Hi all. I'm still here too and do stop by at least once a day to see if there is anything new. Your call Julie if you want to wrap things up. You've already gone way beyond the call of duty.Love the new wheels Nicole, i.e., on your avatar. Good luck with the foot. Karen: I hope you can get some rest (to recover) now that you're moved into your new place.
