I'm definitely in for the race but there are a couple quiet BTers who are lookin' to smoke this thing. I'll put my money on Pat O'keeffe for the fastest BTer. He will probably be getting out of the water in the 22:00 range and has a goal of sub 4:10. He went a 4:14 at Clearwater.

I'm just hoping Rick has the decency to say hello as he flies by me on the bike. I know I will when I pass him back on the run.

As for Fred, BRING IT ON!!!!

Just don't swim over me when you pass me Bob.  Your wave is almost always right after Fred and mine.

I'm in for this race.  I won't be the fastest anything.  I'm shooting to redeem myself on a half Ironman run performance last year (different race) because I was injured.

PennState - 2008-12-24 8:35 AM .... and if you do it you will get to see me put 'the hurt' on Rick

So I guess you plan on running into the back of me while I am resting after crossing the line ahead of you?  That's not very sportsmanlike.

As for hotels, trying looking at Denton, MD when you search on Hotels.com or even in Seaford, DE.  Both of those areas are about 40 minutes away driving time and will still sometimes be open for space.  Looking in Easton or Salisbury will usually result in nothing.

I stay out in Bethany Beach near the ocean, so it is a bit of a hike, but has worked for me the last two years, and since it is my Aunt-in-law's place, it is free!

Aww man I missed all of this chatter yesterday. Great posts..... Hopefully by June I am in race ready shape. This should be a great time as usually, unless of course we have 98 degree temps to deal with again.

Personally I love this course. It takes a special person to be able to hammer for 70 miles with out a break. There are no places to hide on this course. There is no down hill coasting or places to let off. It's full throttle for the entire race. That's the way it should be.

If Mike is racing than you can add him as a first of the BTers (who post) out of the water contender as well.

When Bob posted Pat's predicted swim time, I thought Olympian or ex-NCAA champ - sure enough looked him up and NCAA champ and all american. That explains it.

So, you'll be in the back with me!  We should start BOP smack-talking, like who is most likely to come in last.  :-)

Hey!! No one in my mentor group talks about coming in last! (Unless there is a smile on the face as you cross the finish line that is!)

There will definitely be a smile.  From the sounds of it, I might just be starting my run when some of you guys are finishing the entire race.

I'll be BOP with you girls as well.  And Barb, I was at mile 2 or so when Penn State was at mile 11 at a race, so your statement is pretty right on for me!

No worries finding a place.....we're all crashing with Daremo at Bethany Beach, he's going to be the cabana boy.

Found a place in Denton!!! Wooohooo! thanks for the advice. I can always cancel and find a place closer as the time comes.

Going to think about paying for the community slot 1 or 2 more days but it seems to fit my schedule. I am recovering from a tibial stress fracture and the only other option is Jerseyman 6 weeks earlier which i am concerned about and Black Bear. Not sure if the bear is a great first time HIM. I did the sprint last year and loved it BUT 18 miles vs 56 miles. ugghhh!

Take out Mike and I'm in for the fastest BTer ......

It will be between Bob and Dan for the fastest swim.

Between me ..... and well myself since no one will touch my bike split ......

And me and ...... well myself again on the run as no one is going to touch that either .....

Money mouth

Shall Rick put his money where his mouth is?  How bout if Rick doesn't have the fastest bike & run split at Eagleman, he races his next race in a banana hammock.  The entire race.   How's the untouchable Rick feeling bout that bike and run split now?!!!   Bring it boys!
