Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Jan 09) Goals will be Goals Well, instead of waiting, I picked up the car last night, about 5-6 or so. Went and got the 'incidentals' (ice scraper, jumper cables...) and got the GPS device for the car... Turns out it's defective. Won't work. I'm (or I was) mad. I'm taking it back in the morning and going to a different place to get one (there they have plenty of staff to help me work out the bugs). In the morning I have my first volunteer job (for about 4 hours) then it's running errands. Trying to get the gym stuff taken care of by monday or teusday. Will let you know! |

I was planning my racing season (oh, that sounds sooooooo cool) and it seems like I'm gonna be doing one race a month starting off with duathlons in February and March. Somebody put some sense into my head! Also signed up for the first tri this season - sprint distance, well nearly: 500m-20km-5.2km |

Yeah well these are only plans - we'll see what happens but I really really really wanna do this. And if I do (or should I say when I do this) I promise I won't cry/be depressed or anything like that if I come last in every single one of those races. I also promise I'll master my technique of changing flat tyres No seriously, I will... And just a quick, uplifting quote: "You only lose weight if you burn more than you take in. So that leaves two options. One, reduce your caloric intake if you plan to maintain your current activity level or, two, CONTINUE EATING LIKE A PIG AND BECOME A TRIATHLETE- burn them calories!" |

No need for smacking. I'm jealous. And as far as these being "only" plans, I found out early in life that I never did anything, anything at all, unless I made plans to do it. I have a huge list of "planned" races. I know that there is no way I can do them all, and don't plan to do them all, but it makes a nice manageable list to choose from, instead of the huge universe of races on places like Active.com. Good luck and have fun with your racing. |

Regular 90 Palatka, Florida | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Jan 09) Goals will be Goals Hello all, I just wanted to stop by and let you all know that I am still here. Surgery went fine, the took out old suchures from my first sugery 11 years ago, took out a lot of arthritis, and cartalidge fragments. Then they put in two new anchors and pulled my labium back up tight around the ball and sockett to make every thing tight again. There was no damage to my rotator cuff, YEAH!!!!! I will be in a sling for four weeks and then I will start PT. I will be checking in and letting you all know how I'm progressing. Good Luck everyone and keep up the great work. Oh Yeah!! It's good to see that Comet found his way home!!! Peace, |

Veteran 1773 Dayton, OH | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Jan 09) Goals will be Goals Got up real early today, had to run a few errands before work, but I got through it! The new(er) car is doing great, and the GPS unit (Garmin 255W) really, really helps. Though I'm a little bummed, I can't say I was out walking with a 40 lb backpack anymore. I guess that's one more reason to head to the gym as soon as possible. I'll keep you all updated as to when that will happen. The sickies have been kept at bay for two days now, and I'm wondering when I'm going to get slammed. I can feel it in my throat and chest, and my neck is a little achy too (maybe it's meningitis, alas no rash!). Been suckin down Dayquil like jellybeans though, thank _od for them! Oh, and I have a confession to make... I had chilly cheese coney's for lunch, 5 of them ( and a mountain dew) !!!!!!!!! I knew this was going to happen. As soon as I get in the car, and turn the GPS on, it's like all the Taco Bells on the planet are calling my name! I just have to keep in mind, I guess, with the car --> I go to school, work, the gym, and home, that's it! See ya! |

A long time ago I just stopped going to fast food places altogether ( with a couple of exceptions- I let myself get Arby's Market Fresh sandwiches once in a while) because I would end up eating way too much. I would just think hmmm.... maybe I should get something else because the other thing (or 5 things!) might not be enough. Dangerous stuff I tell you. But it looks like are moving past it, which is great. |

Expert 859 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Team Skinny (Jan 09) Goals will be Goals why are there no sports minutes for housework? There are for DIY and yardwork. I've just vacuumed everywhere and scrubbed the floors and I'm wabbit. Need to sit down with a cup of tea for a while (wabbit (rhymes with rabbit) to be wabbit is to be tired, run down or lacking in energy Collins Scots Dictionary) |

Trouble? Me? Never.
Knowing what Coney is, and not being from NYC, marks ones generation. BTW, 5 is way too many. |
