Ahh, yes. Mind numbing meetings. Just got out of one myself then went for a run. I took it early instead of lunch because it is gonna rain and I am a fair weather runner.

Dang, that roof sounds bad. Are you sure you can't log that as one of your workouts?

Really, life is like that sometimes... Just do what you can.

Finally Toppage!!!!

LazyMarathoner - 2009-01-26 9:29 PM Hi everyone. Did some abs and not much else. I spent 8 hours doing the start up documents for my tri coach. Ugh. Wish that counted as a workout!

it will be time well spent K!

how are you feeling today?

I felt great! I slept like a baby both Sunday and Monday nights. I forgot what a great benefit long workouts are for sleep. My right hip remained tight and I may have overdone the foam rolling on Sunday, but otherwise tip top. I was relieved since I didn't train and didn't want to screw up my legs heading into HIM training.

How are you feeling today?

rcberto - 2009-01-27 6:42 AM Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA.  I am dropping my running goal back to 50 and will be struggling to meet all the others.  it's been a tough month!  I've spent about 9 hours on my roof this week alone!  I'll check in on all your progress when i get to work.  Off to the gym...

Yeah, too bad we have to have lives outside of training! I'll meet or exceed my running goal, but it looks like I'm going to only get 11 out of 12 swims in and i'm only going to hit about 75% of my strength goal. My body was so sore from moving so I just couldn't put it through the strength work on top of it. Seems like 14 hours a day of lifting, climbing up and down stairs, etc should count for something! But oh well. I did my best in a month where I barely had the energy to breathe most days.

Did another trainer ride yesterday night and a quick run this morning. Pushing as much as I can to reach all of my goals.

What is everyone up to today?

Robert- Love the new avatar.

Today is bike day for me. Inside on the trainer. Warm and toasty, if boring.

I upped my bike mileage again. PMed Slugger. I have not ridden this far before. Next month will be even more. Maybe I will actually be able to do that Olly after all.

Happy Hump day all.

Hi team,  I feel really bad, but there is no way I am going to meet my mileage goal - it's too late to lower the goal - here's my blog entry from today -

long story short, I over estimated what I would be able to do after the 1/2 mary - big time!  I'll get some more miles in over the next 3 days, but it's not likely to be 15

there is no way i am going to meet my january running goal - i upped it to 75 a little earlier in the month, thinking it would not be a big deal to get right back at it after the event - it's not happening

that being said, i'm ok with it - this challenge was about challenging yourself and i feel i have certainly done that - it was a tough month workwise - just busy and hard to fit the time in.  accomplishments so far for this month

  • ran almost 60 miles (so far - there are still a few days left)
  • ran 9 miles for the first time
  • ran 10 miles for the first time
  • ran 13.1 miles for the first time
  • made HUGE progress in the area of pacing
  • ran 1 mile continuous a few times
  • ran 2 miles continuous a few times
  • participated in a 1/2 mary in 14 degree weather!!!!

Do not feel bad. It is a CHALLENGE challenge and you did exactly that. I have no excuses and I am not gonna make my run. On a good note I should get both the swim and the bike. (I'd better since I raised both of those).

No one should feel bad. I'm not making my goals either even though I tried really hard to catch up after the move. On a positive note, I swam 3,000y today, my longest swim ever. It felt good and made me think for the first time that I might be finally getting past my injury. I should have set a yardage goal instead of sessions, because I'm at 11,800 for the month and have at least two more swims planned so that's a big month distance-wise for me.

I should hit my run goal with no problem, and will be way short on strength. But without this challenge, I would have curled up on my couch after unpacking and felt sorry for myself instead of pushing to keep training. I'll have you guys to thank when I'm finishing my first HIM in 9 weeks (gulp).

X2 on what everyone else said. No one has to feel bad, we had to challenge ourselves and we did. If we reach some of our goals that will be fantastic, if not that will still be a really great challenge and a awesome team

Personally I won't reach my riding goal, but I knew that it would be the hardest of all three since I just hate riding on the trainer =/

Hey all!

Sorry I too have been MIA lately.  Too much going on at home.  I am trying to get in my miles and still learning the rollers, but that is getting better.  I too might not reach my goal but it will be close and I will do my best.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Morning team

Today's my off day, well almost off day. I still have to move a little bit for the peach challenge. I will do some core work before diner tonight.

What is everyone up to to finish the month strong? I do have a swim and a run tomorrow to reach both of my goals, I might ride on the trainer too. I won't reach the ride goal but I will get closer to it as much as I can.

Hey folks. A swim and a bike today to finish off those two goals. I had a run in with a bottle of wine last night so today's bike and swim are gonna be painful. Serves me right.

I have a run lined up tomorrow but I will still be short for that goal.

TGIF all

Hi all!

I met my bike goal and will be over on my run goal after tomorrow. I'm going to swim tonight and try to get another in tomorrow, but probably won't quite make my swim goal. This has been an awesome challenge, and a fantastic team! It has definitely been a CHALLENGE to meet or get close to these goals! Great job to all of us for working towards our goals and challenging ourselves this month!

Morning team,

Today's is our last day officially as a team. I just wanted to let you all know that I had a blast during that last month with you all. We all really challenged ourselves and we did everything possible to get through the month and reach our goal. We didn't reach them all, but that is because our goals were some real challenge.

I am really proud of what we accomplished as a team and I hope that we will be in another challenge together soon

As far as today goes, I have an appointment soon so I can't go run now. But I have a 45 minutes run somewhere this morning to reach my running goal and then I will head to the pool to swim around 2k to reach my swimming goal. Sadly I won't reach my riding goal for the month though.

Have a great day all, lets push for that last day to get some numbers in so we finish stronger

Go Grit Go!!

Hey Grits. Echoing here. This was a great challenge. It has been fun watching everyone trying to get the most training in while still enduring life. We did great. I got my bike in today to finish up that goal. The run... well.... at least I made over 5)% of it. You all have been a great team..

Go Grit Go.
