I'm in for the half. First time. Hoping to survive and finish under 2:30. Not excited about the potential rain.

I've been wondering the same thing. I guess pretty much anywhere you park you'll have to pay. I was thinking the Aquarium parking lot or the lot next to Philips arena, but I haven't looked to see what streets are being blocked off so you can get to those areas......
Marta might be easy, but I want a car at the finish line....

We parked at the GA Dome last year and it was pretty easy to escape after the race.

It's best to park between the Georgia dome and the park.  All the roads in that direction remain open.  Our friend Joe parked right by the park near the Aquarium last year.  I'm going to try and park there.

I parked in the green lot off of Marietta last year, and that is my plan for this year. I could have thrown a stone from the finish line and hit my car.. or at least someone sleeping near it.

Taper Taper Taper... Toilet Taper. How many ways can you use Taper in a sentance. I'll start.

Taper the tantrum, crack ho!.

Hi everyone!  Michigander checking in for the roll call!  I am flying down tomorrow and am looking forward to some waaarmth.

Anyhow, I'm doing the half and have really no time goal, since I'm a flatlander heading into unknown territory.  I'm currently at 18 miles in training for a full, tho, so I'm hoping that will carry me for a bit.

Great!  I'll keep an eye out for a girl with only one nose.

The hills aren't that bad.  If you can do 18 miles you'll think it's a breeze.

Michigan Ex-Pat here. You'll be fine with the half if you are up to 18 mile long runs. Just prepare yourself mentally to expect hills, hills, and more hills.

I see you are from Ferndale. Where do you do your long runs?

through the winter, i did all of my long runs at Kensington (a bit of hill prep there, too).  I did one 17 miler into Berkley, but that was a bad mistake with all of the concrete roads!!

Now this has me thinking - how do they have people line up for the start?  By number??

The first year was a free for all which was a huge disaster. Last year they had starting corrals by time. My guess is that if your number starts with 1 you are in corral #1 and so forth.

I think you will get a corral assignment when you get your race packet- like last year (as long as you put in an estimated time)

#2018--sounds like the marathon is bigger this year or they started with a bigger number.

I was in corral 2 last year with 785. Your bib --if like last year--will have your corral assignment on it. I am fairly certain the half and whole mixed in the same corral. nay! nay! nay!

FWIW I put my 3:28QT as my time--whereas last year I put 3:37QT. I put estimated finish time 3:28 (not likely!) and last year I put 3:30 (again, was 3:38).

Corral one last year had the 3:10 and 3:20 pace groups. Corral  2 had the 3;30 and 3:40 pg. I think corral 3 3:50 and 4:00 and after that I have no idea.
