I've been looking for a half mary to train for in May. Obviously there is not much out there! But this one came up: http://www.pacersrunningfestival.com/

Anyone done this one? Have anything good/bad to say? What's it like?

First year for the race, looks like first part is all downhill, middle to end is all flat, but kind of hard to read the coursemap.

It actually used to be the Battle of the Boulevard 10K (I just googled that race for another reason and discovered that it was changed). I never ran it (the 10K) but know friends who did it last year. I just know it goes through Arlington, which is hilly in general.

Hmm...I'm kinda intrigued about this half-mary, now. Except that it's kinda in between 2 sprints that I'm doing, so probably a bad idea on my part.

Sam did the BOB 10k last year and the start was the same but this course has been modified so you don't come back up wilson which is the killer part of the course.  Now you just go down wilson which is all down hill and down 110 or something like that which is all pretty flat.

No, do the Marine Corp Half Marathon later in the month (May 17).  I need some other BT person to meet and hang out with.

No, the full Marine Corp Marathon registration doesn't even open until April 1.

Anyways, the half marathon is still open.

Except for those of us (un)lucky folks who had to defer from last year for whatever reason I'm already registered for MCM 2009

so no takers for this race?  I signed up before really paying much attention to this thread.  First three miles should be pretty easy, downhill to flat!.  ONly really hilly part around mile 8 over by the Navy annex.

I might do it. The weather will be nice. Easy 13.

I'm already registered for MCM too. Can't do Frederick, I won't be in town.

I actually went and signed up. It's evenly between 2 easy sprints, and I'm doing CB 10-Miler next week, so I'll have plenty of time to add the extra 3 miles into my training. The fact that it's downhill and flat is the reason that I decided to make it a go. Fairly easy way to knock a half-mary off of my to-do list.

Actually they had a booth at the Shamrock marathon.  If you asked they gave you a code you could use to register before April 1st.  Just finished signing up.

What time does the MCM registration open on April 1st?  Also, is that a one-time use early registration code?  You know a fellow BT'er might be interested in using it if it's not...
