Subject: RE: How to Deal with Bandits! (Tour de Scottsdale)When I join an event, I like to try to make it a fun, positive activity for myself. People poach races or segments of races all the time, and I feel its the responsibility of the event organizers to enforce their rules and regulations. When you get participants doing or saying negative things on a course, and taking matters into their own hands, it can cause problems and change the event into a hostile environment. This is supposed to be a charitable event. If there are people who want to ride and don't want to contribute, they know who they are, and it's the business of them and the event organizers. Not mine. I don't think I like the attitude of the organizers to expect people to give "negative attention" to others. Maybe I won't participate.
