Based on my Eagleman experience, I think it's a good thing. The water was choppier once we got out into the river, but the bay was pretty calm. We probably won't get as much help from the current though.

The only impact I see on the bike route is that there are fewer turns. Kind of a bummer for me, because turns at least break things up a bit.

that's what I was hoping. I don't have much ocean water experience so no chop works for me.

hmm so the bike just got a little duller huh? oh well boring is ok. suddenly adding hills would be bad

Does anyone know if they have campsites available?  I saw it on the entry but it did not work when I clicked the link.

I am getting so pumped to be done with long training sessions--taper will feel sooooo good....  I went online yesterday to check out the host hotel ammenities again---the beds look super comfy, closeby to the shore, it's going to be awesome!

My fiance has rented a 'camp site' near the transition area--he'll be setting up a sun-tent with a grill at 5am race morning so he and my fam can tailgate and watch the race--said he'd bring his bike along to ride out and cheer me on--what a guy!
Any one else's family/spectators that want company--let me know and I'll pass along info!

Congrats, we are getting close.  I am really getting excited.  Feel I'm trained and ready, no real "fear" of the distance, just respect for the work ahead.

I totally understand--I know I've put in the training hours, but you never know what will happen race day right?  I'm getting super excited for it though---I've been picturing each leg of the race, and of course the finish--i just can't wait to get there and do it now .

Strong?  I'm just trying to stay upright.  Two weeks ago I fell and banged my hip hard on a pleasure bike with the wife.  Week ago I flipped the lawn tractor.  Got out of the way but hit the shoulder hard.  Saturday I renewed my membership in I forgot to unclip   club.  Hope everyone else is staying healthy.  So far everything should heal in a week.

Train smart.

I just signed up the other day for the AquaVelo, using it a prep for IMFL.  Racing the Nation's tri this weekend and then looking forward to ChesapeakeMan!  See you all in Cambridge!

An "off" day!  Wow, I could get used to this tapering business.  Only 15 days until we meet in the Bay for a little swim, bike, run.
