Blah, don't mind the rain so much, but 63 and rain might feel chilly. Not sure yet about clothing.

Just saw they posted 76 degrees water temp. (Yay, I was wrong!)

PS: bad weather is extra bummer for you, Doug. The athletes will be uncomfortable no matter what the weather. It should at least be nice for you to enjoy your day as a volunteer! :-)

So that's finished!Congrats to everyone who was there! And thanks to the volunteers.Sooo... that was my first Half... and that was HARD. We have no elevation in va Beach, is that course as hilly as it seems? I have no basis for comparison.GREAT time though, really enjoyed it (except the second run loop going up the first hill, that I did not enjoy.)

I would say no, it's not as hilly as it seems.

The bike is just sorta rolling, and only mildly at that.  The run?  That's actually hillier than it seems, I think.

I was seriously swearing the first time up that first hill on the trails.  I was doing a fair bit worse than that on the second lap.  That's a mean, mean run course.

Yeah, meant the run. I really don't find that bike course that hilly either, and most of the hills are proceeded by decent descents to get some speed. But yes, I was hoping others thought that run was hard. I ran 30 minutes slower than a 13.1 I did 3 weeks ago. Granted I bike and swam first yesterday but it was about 3:20 slower a mile or so.
