Total Time = 4h 40m 40s
Overall Rank = 2185/2869
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 113/178
Pre-race routine:

woke up in hotel room; had breakfast and made sure everything was packed. Made my way to the start line. Georgian Court hotel is nice and close to the race start/finish. Highly recommend it!
Event warmup:

Made sure to stretch well as I'd been getting stiff (from lack of training?) all week!
Run
  • 4h 40m 40s
  • 42.2 kms
  • 06m 39s  min/km
Comments:

Had an amazing first half. Ran way too fast but thought I could keep it up. Learned too late that I couldn't! This is my 6th marathon but my first in 11 years. I was both a rookie and a veteran. Veteran for mental preparation; rookie for going out too fast. Finished with a kick, nevertheless!
What would you do differently?:

Run with the 4:30 pace group even if the initial pace seemed slow.
Post race
Warm down:

Found family and headed back to hotel. Tried to have an ice bath. Had big burger and a beer!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Going out too fast on the first half!

Event comments:

Great oncourse entertainment - lots of it. The Taiko drummers were amazing, and responsible for my fast pace over a short distance (early on!)

Should have stayed together...probably passed each other once or twice.

Hope you had a great time out there. I did see the guy with bare feet! Crazy people!

Wasn't the burger the best ever!!!

I'm so proud of you, making your goal!  Who would have imagined 11 years between marathons?  So much changes, yet our dreams catch up with us, don't they?  Great job, now take some well-deserved rest!

Congrats Tracy - now for the 1/2 ironman (I would guess Calgary rather than Cancun).
