Problem started last night, yesterday's workout downloaded OK. Similar to problem Frank is having in this thread.

From traning log, "Import from Garmin." Device is found correctly, when I hit "Get Data" the "Progress Bar" appears but is suck on 0%.

Workout uploads to Garmin Training Center and to SportsTracks just fine. However, on MotionBased it also sticks at 0% on the progress bar.

I've tried reinstalling Communicator, deleted cookies and internet files, determined that my device firmware is up-to-date. Deleted all workouts except the last month. Tried the mode+reset+power soft reset.

I've gone to the regular test page, plus the test page you linked to in the above referenced thread. Both work fine, the latter appears to have downloaded my workout correctly.

Any clues?

I'm suddenly having a d/l problem too. Yesterday's workout, no problem. Today's it finds the device, goes through the Get Data routine, but then doesn't offer me the Upload Workout option. Went to the test page in the other thread and got the transfer progress just fine. Have not updated Communicator sw in awhile, so perhaps that's it? Will try that and see if it helps.

Sorry for you but in the same time I'm happy I'm not alone to have that problem. I still have the problem and never be able yet to fix it. I call twice Garmin and they can't fixe the problem so I think I will not be able anymore to download my training in my log. If somebody find a trick to help us we will appreciate it.

Thank you to all of you

I had the same problem with Motionbased as well. I opened the Motionbased agent on my computer and synchronized my Motionbased files that way. I have not been able to resolve my garmin import to BT yet.

Any find a resolution?  Just got a 405, first day sync'ed fine.  Since then I don't even get the "Import from Garmin" button on the training log.  I went to Garmins test site.  It found the device but when I clicked Read from device it sits at 0%.  Sending data to Garmin Training Center works fine.

I read that thread but it discusses the 205 and 305 and legacy USB devices.  This is a 405 and   Am I reading the wrong article or are you saying this also affects the 405 devices also?  (probably obvious but just wanted to clarify)

Well, the Garmin error says "legacy USB devices", not Marma's description.  405 being a newer/not as widely used(yet) device, may have been left off the list of known affected devices.

If you are having the same symptoms, and are running the newest software, I would try downgrading, and see if that works.  If it doesn't then it would be new issue.

From a prior thread by marmadaddy on a 405

I'm thinking that there's something specific to your device on the data on it causing this. Data is uploading fine from my 405 and we haven't had other reports of this.

  • Install the lastest version of Garmin Communicator
You will need to restart your browser or reboot your computer
  • Run the Garmin Communicator TEST

If it still fails, run the Garmin WebUpdater

  • What happens when you test from this Garmin Test Page? Make sure you try the TCX History options.

Also, have you ever deleted any workouts from the unit? If you don't it will degrade the data on older workouts to make room for newer ones. This can eventually result in data read errors.

Will reinstall the lastest Communicator tonight.  It worked once so not sure why stopped working.  As for clearing workouts.  Yes I cleared all of the workouts.

As for the Garmin test page, it sees the 405 but when I click on Read Device it stays at 0%

Well, installed the previous version, reboot, didn't work with BT Log (no import button).  Downloaded the latest Communicator, installed, reboot.  Test page finds device and reads the 4 workouts I have on it (TCX mode).  But BT Log still no import button.  Start up Webupdater and it can't see the 405.  I still have my 301 and am going to try hooking it up and seeing if it works.

Thanks for everyones help, should I start a separate thread and this doesn't seem related to the original post?

I'm a complete idiot, should have noticed it sooner.  Importing workout data is a bronze+ feature.  Importing routes is free.  You will get the import button if you are bronze+.
