Run
Comments: I wanted to go out around 9 on the first mile and work down to 7:45.... Well, my first mile was 7:58! I kept passing people as I picked up the pace. Didn't have mile 2 or 3 times, but mile 4 was 30:40. Mile 6 was 45:17. I attacked and passed most racers on the HILLS, so I was proud of that. Raced the eventual 2nd place masters female to the finish line. She beat me! So now I know my running competition level! Female Masters! LOL This was a good run for me, especially the mental aspect! What would you do differently?: sleep in! Post race
Warm down: plenty of food and give-aways! What limited your ability to perform faster: stinkin' slow male masters legs! Last updated: 2005-04-13 12:00 AM

First of all and very seriously, my office friends raised some sizeable $ to give to Hospice and volunteered me to run. My father-in-law passed away last year and Hospice was there to assist him and my mother-in-law through the ordeal. I am very proud to run in his memory...
I'm not a real runner yet, but I need to challenge myself, so here is my first 10K.
Got up and ate a bagel and banana. Well, I was treating this like a training run, so I didn't do any warm up.
scoped-out the competition.. J/K LOL!!!! I mean, I talked trash with a friend working the volunteer tent, then scoped-out the female competition!
