Are you in? I heard that some of the roads around the race site have been fixed up.

This will be my second time racing Milton.  It was my first Sprint last year, so I'm out to see how much I've improved in a year.  If you haven't raced it before, be prepared for 6th line hill, which is a bit of a bear, so you just need to find a comfortable gear and gut it out.  As for the run, it's almost all uphill on the way out, and downhill on the way back (makes it tough when just coming off the bike).  Oh - and expect the water to be chilly.  Last year I swam in the lake at least 1/2 dozen times before the race, but this year I haven't been out yet.

Best of luck for race day.

I swam last Sunday and the water was not too cold so assuming you'll wear a wet suit Smile  you should rock!
Good luck at the race!

I'm waiting until Guelph Lake 1. I rode the course a few weeks ago and the roads were good.

I'm still recovering from the Ottawa 1/2 Marathon last weekend.

Milton should be fun if not COLD!!

Who's doing Guelph Lake 1?

Definitely doing Guelph Lake but Lakeside 1 is first.  Hope to fit some others in too.    Good luck to the first time racers!  An experience you'll never forget!! Guaranteed! Remember to keep smiling!

I am signed up for the olympic, first time doing this race venue.  I have yet to test the bike course, I will most likely do it next weekend.

You'll like the olympic course. Guelph Lake was my first Olympic a few years back.

If you're riding the course beware of 2 dogs on the descent back towards the lake.

There's a farmer there that doesn't tie them up. They dam near well got me a few weeks ago. Lucky it's on a huge hill you go down so they can't catch you if your bookin it.

Thanks for the tip Timmy, I'll be on the lookout for them.

Good luck to everyone racing Milton tomorrow!

I'm hoping to do Belwood.

It's a great venue that I think gets overlooked. I find it not as busy as the Guelph Lake 1 and 2.

Any one doing Belwood later this summer?

I'm hoping to do it - I've only ever done mini sprints and Guelph Lake 1 was supposed to be my introduction to sprints but now can't do it.  Hopefully will up and ready for Belwood.  Nervous about the distances as this would be my longest...

Good luck in Milton!

Bravo to anyone who did Milton yesterday.  Although I didn't do Milton, I did get out on the bike and those winds were unbelievable.  I also managed to get into Guelph Lake for the first time this year yesterday....cold getting in on the hands and feet...face was the worse part but after being in a bit, it felt not too bad.  The wind made for choppy waters.  Had to test out the wetsuit again....  A little late getting in the water as I was in by mid May last year.    Lakeside this weekend coming.....first tri of season for me.  Guelph Lake thereafter.   Hoping to do a few more including Belwood.
