Married for 2 years, been together almost 9. Been through undergrad, medical school and now residency together. If THAT isn't a test of a relationship, I don't know WHAT is.

No kids, although it may be in the 5 year plan...haven't decided yet!

Very similar for me married 3.5 years been together 9 years and been through undergrad, medical school and now residency together...well those things only for me, but he was there for all of it...he is 7 years older than me and school teacher...but still has the patience of a saint to stick with me through all the stress of medical training. I think if your relationship can survive one person working 80-100 hours a week and being on call every 3rd night than you can make it through almost anything (short of the really bad stuff like abuse or infidelity).

Well, now you know that we can make something (although that's debateable) out of nothing, here on BT.  Ridiculous isn't it?

I'm married (7 years) and work full time, but am not a mom so I don't have anything to share with you about balance.  Actually being married helps a lot because my husband can take care of stuff while I'm training, help at races, etc.

Has there been a poll regrading how many BTers are single, divorced or married?  Seems like there are very few married folks around here so just wondering.  I feel like I am in the minority.  In fact, I am thinking of lobbying for my own month - Married Full-Time Working Mom Triathlete Appreciation Month.

(Oh, and when I say married, I include those people who aren't allowed to be legally married but should be!)

I'll second that effort after I finish my first tri on Sunday!  But shouldn't our spouses and kids (I have 4) do it for us...looks better that wayLaughing

Good luck and enjoy your first Tri!!!

Since I started this "poll thread without a poll" I think I will add a few things:

First, I did not intend it to be a poll.  I was asking if there was a previous poll.  Sorry for the confusion.

Second, the reason behind my interest was that I felt that I was in the minority.  I probably should have opened a thread asking how many other married, full time working moms are here in BTland.  I am struggling with finding some sort or balance in my life right now.  (I will start another thread for this.)

Third, I meant in no way to disparage anyone or leave any categories out.  I really appreciate the diversity and wide range of folks that are here.  I did notice that there was no "Married and Dating" responders.

And last, a little about me.  I have been married to Brad for 11 years but we have been together for 19 years.  (We lived together for the first 8 years before marriage.)  We have 2 kids, 2 dogs and a cat who thinks he is a dog.

He usually only comes to visit us on the weekends. He says its too far to drive downtown from the burbs. Plus he has a ton of laundry to do during the week.
