Subject: RE: It’s All RelativeIt's absolutely all relative. The person hitting 7:00 min miles on a run is comparing themselves to someone that can hit 6:00. It's OK for 7:00 min miler to consider themselves "not that fast." They're not, compared to the 6:00 minute miler. But, somehow, it's more accepted for someone who averages a 10:00 pace to say they're not that fast. To the person that's struggling to hit 12:00, you're fast compared to them! I've never understood posts like..."Psshh, you think an 8:00 minute mile is slow?? Try a 9:00 minute mile." It's all relative. I get out, do my thing, and know that people are going to be faster, and slower, than I am. Edited by vball03umd 2009-06-18 4:02 PM
