Besides an energy drink, what is a good, low calorie afternoon pick me up (drink, snack, supplement, etc)?  Between my IMFL training and staying up way too late to read, I am struggling in the afternoons.  I know, I need to put the books down, but humor me anyway!

Thanks, guys!

I like a nice crisp apple, Occasionally a handful of Peanuts, and if all else fails a nice piece or good, dark (at least 75% usually more) chocolate. Also I will use a glass of Emergency if I am feeling tired and Like I could use a bit of a boost.

Heretic!

Do you like chai?  Because my other afternoon pick-me-up is usually a skim chai latte... so tasty...

NO Shotgun!!

I love this stuff!  It is a great pre-workout supplement that is advertised mainly for weight lifting but works great for my afternoon workouts as well...  It has a lot of good stuff in it, including protein, but mainly it gives you energy while some how making you seriously focused!  Its like Adderall for the gym...

Here are two of my faves that don't include caffeine, though caffeine is always a good source of pick me up.  Both of these two work great, taste amazing and are very healthy for you.
1.)  sliced gala apple with natural creamy peanut butter sprinkled with raisons.
2.)  sliced bananas on wheat bread with peanut butter and honey.

Try either one and I bet you will be glad you did, I have told the 2nd recipe to many skeptical people but once I let them try it, everyone agrees, IT'S GOOOOOOD.
