Subject: RE: Eating while racingx2 on eating more solid food on longer rides. I routinely do 70-100 mile rides every weekend (if the weather cooperates ), and I usually bring along with me a Clif bar (or 2 mini Clif bars ), a pack of Clif Shot Bloks or some other gummy-type nutrition (Luna Moons, Honey Stinger Chews, Sharkies, etc ), and a Peanut Butter & Honey Uncrustable. For fluids, I usually mix up a bottle of GU20, Heed, or a blend of G2 & water...then I will refill at a gas station stop along the way, as needed. This plan has always gotten me through longer distances, relatively well. I typically don't use gels on rides, but that's just me. Gels tend to work better for me, when taken before a swim workout.
