Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 04m 51s
  • 250 yards
  • 01m 56s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started good, but felt very sluggish half way through. No one passed me and I passed two people in front.
What would you do differently?:

No idea what caused my sluggishness.
Transition 1
  • 01m 34s
Comments:

Should skip socks for the ssprints. Tough time getting clipped in.
What would you do differently?:

Practice clipping in on an uphill. Drop the socks
Bike
  • 35m 39s
  • 12 miles
  • 20.20 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike went great. Had a little difficulty keep in aero position as my neck was stiff. Never passed and passed a lot of people.
What would you do differently?:

Ride more long distance to acclimate my neck muscles.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
Comments:

Just need to move faster
Run
  • 26m 27s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

Started better than usual. I worked on riding in a lower gear at the end of the back and stretching my back, seemed to help as I started faster than usual. About 1 mile in got a bad side stitch. Had to walk a little twice. Got passed twice. Estimate I lost 2 minutes because of the walking.
What would you do differently?:

More brick workouts.
Post race
Warm down:

None really.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Forgot to take any caffeine before the race!

Great job out there.  I have found that dropping to a lower gear and uping the cadance for the last mile or so before the run really helps the legs.  You did SWBKRUNMG proud!  See ya at Triangle.

Doug

Over 20mph on the bike? holy cats, you are fast.  Great job.

Sidestitch's are a bummer.   Given how quickly it started, I am guessing it was either from bike posture crushing your diaphram or something you drank late in the bike.
