Subject: RE: Giant blister miracle cure?I like to give mine a chance to dry out before actually popping it -- on the first night, I soak it in Domeboro (weird vinegar-smelling aluminum solution ) for a while, then paint it with povidone iodine and leave it uncovered until the next morning. Sometimes that does the trick and most of the fluid absorbs back in. Then I just cover it over with a bandaid until it dries out the rest of the way and turns into a callus. Usually that doesn't work though. Plan B involves popping it with a sterilized needle, putting antiseptic on it (please don't use triple antibiotic though -- neomycin is nasty stuff and you can develop allergies to it by overusing neosporin ), and covering it over with some kind of bandage. I am a big fan of Nexcare foam bandages on blisters. Other people prefer 2nd Skin, or one of the many blister-specific kinds of band-aids. |
