Did my first of the season this weekend and I thought it was long.. But I'm only training for a sprint...2.5 hour bike was nothing in comparison...

It is long to you, so that is all that matters!  Especially if it was your longest ever.

Congrats on the run!

It's all relative. I know folks who think a 10-minute run is "long."

An hour run is a long run to me. It's not a long run to Daremo. Like Bear said, it's all relative.

Nice job with the run!

An hour still feels long to me if its a faster tempo run or track workout. I think the long slow runs that we do is partly mental and something you will get used to as you continue training.

Congrats on your accomplishment.

For me, that's kind of a dividing line beyond which most of my planned "long runs" fall.  My shortest weekly "long runs" (other than in a recovery week after a marathon or if I'm injured) tend to be 8 miles...which usually takes me roughly an hour.  In general, a weekly long run for me will be anywhere from 8 to 20 miles (which is about one hour to three hours), depending on what I'm training for and where in the training cycle I am.

All relative. For a rank beginner, it's ENDLESS. I'd venture that 95+% of the general sedentary US would feel like they would die if they tried to actually run nonstop for an hour, even at an easy conversational pace.

Judging from my local tri club, hour runs are pretty typical for most midlevel triathletes.

I come from running background, so for me, an hour is so short I actually consider it a warmup, and rarely will do only a solo hour run in training - I'll add 30 mins of intervals, brick it, or go much longer. I'd say this type of load would be typical for a local AG competitor (but not elite by any means). It really is all relative.

I'm a terrible swimmer, so an hour swim feels ENDLESS to me!
