Subject: bike question

So I have been contemplating buying a tri bike sometime in the near future.  Right now Im riding on a road bike with clip on aero bars and a forward seat post.  So my question is.......Should I buy the tri bike and sell my road bike or buy the tri bike and keep the road bike as a back up/alternate training bike?

Also, anyone have any suggestions on preferred tri bikes? I was thinking Felt or Cervelo

As long as you are fitted and are comfortable on the roadie, why bother?  Is the roadie old and "has seen its time"?  You need a lighter ride?

Personally, I would keep the roadie as a backup, especially if you have the room to store it.

In all honesty, whatever bike you feel comfortable with and can be fitted properly on is the bike to get.  I like my Cervelo.  Other people like Felt, Giant, Trek, etc.

But, you do need to name it after you get it home.

Wow, I almost hate to say this but I actually mostly agree with fillup!!  I would keep the road bike too (kicking myself for selling Nemo) and choose a bike brand that you like (Shark Bait comes from Trek).  However, you do get the final say on the name of your bike, BUT, others are allowed input!!!

You know - neither my roadie or my tri bike has a name. Maybe that's why they don't love me...

Well see there is the problem Deanna.  Using B!tch! when referring to them makes it so they don't love you.

You don't have to worry about calling them the wrong name though. O.o

I thought selling used bikes was illegal

Just keep adding to the collection! You never know when you may need an extra bike.

Mr. Casserole, that's her term of endearment, ya know.  And, with the 'sconnie accent, it probably was said as BEE YATCH at the time.

This is a fact!

Keep the roadie.  I bought the tri bike first, then a road bike the next year.  I put most of my miles on the roadie these days.  I fear that next year the tri bike will gather dust but it will stay in the stable fo sho!
