Subject: Quintana Roo Kilo owners, question about seat angle

I have a 2008 QR Kilo.  If you have the same bike, I have a question for you.  I think this is pretty specific to this bike, but I might be wrong.

I am trying to adjust the seat angle to bring the nose down.  On the front side of the seat bracket, there's a threaded rod with a little thing in the center (sorry, not technical) that you can turn to bring the nose up or down.  On my bike, I cannot screw it down past a certain point.  Even though it's not even parallel or close to it, and the little thing you turn is still several turns above the bottom.  I wish I had a picture of this...

But I wondered of the Kilo owners:  Are you able to adjust the seat far enough down that it is at least parallel to the ground?  I don't even that that option and my seat looks ridiculous and is uncomfortable.  There's a possible imperfection on the threaded rod that may be stopping it from going down, but I suppose it might be by design.  I don't see why I wouldn't have the option though....   If it sounds like a problem, I'll bring it to the bike shop.  But I was looking for some anecdotal evidence before I drove the bike the 30 miles to get it checked out.   Thanks!

I think I have the same post bracket.
There is a nut in the front and a hex bolt in the back. You have to tighten one and loosen the other to tilt the seat. You will need a wrench AND a hex key.

Is the hex bolt in the back seperate from the one that I turn to tighten the bracket over the seat rails?  I will look for another option that I may have not tried to loosen/tighten yet...

Can you turn the nut in the front, so that the nut is all of the way down (touching the bottom), or are there still threads visible between the bottom and the nut?

We may not be talking about the same thing then. I'll try to find a picture of the Kilo's seat clamp.

What I'm talking about is sort of a see-saw thing where there are 2 bolts, front one a wrench and rear one a hex. They work together to both clamp the rails and set the seat tilt. If you loosen the back and tighten the front you will clamp the rails with the seat tilting more forward.  It's kind of hard to explain without hand motions and an actual see-saw.
