It looks like they've changed the distances from last year for the run to 6.2 miles? Was it really 4 miles last year

Looks like the swim has gotten longer, too...They're calling it their "intermediate distance" event...

On trifind I think it showed the duathlon as a 5k/22mile/5k and on their site it shows it as a 5k/22mile/10k.  For the triathlon it shows 1500m/22mile/10k and I think has always been that, even on trifind (not sure about last year).

I'm thinking of doing the duathlon but was kind of hoping to make it my 1st Olympic triathlon.  I wanted to finish the season off with a bang by doing my 1st 5k in February and finishing with an Olympic triathlon.  But I'm still not sure if I could swim 1500meters.  I'm waiting until the cut off day before I decide IF there is spots available.

Hey Burt, I'm doing the Oly and training for Augusta too.  See you there, and 3298 of our friends.

Anyone who did Elberton last year have any insights on course particularities?

FYI.  Chuck Dunlop added Aquabike (swim/bike) as an option for this race, so if you know anybody dealing with a running injury but wants to race, please pass word along.

Let's get this back to the top now that we're all getting pumped.  This may be my last tri of the season, so I'm ready to tear it up.  That is, of course, if I don't fall asleep on the 2 1/2 hour drive up there.

you must have taken a pass on the econolodge in Elberton..probably a wise move! Just did the transition clinic with Dan Arnett at All3sports which was really good. Game on!

practiced my flying mounts and dismounts last night....with the scrapes to prove it..thanks! The flying dismount was a piece of cake, oooh but the running mount....need some more work on that...my right shoe kept flying off without being velcroed in...kept hitting my rear water bottles and finally got to a point where it was workable...I'm thinking I'll leave my shoes on the bike to start..great fun although I scared the kids in the little league park pretty bad : )

as i said to coach dan in the Endurance Concepts Augusta transition clinic, i would be doing those if it really mattered Burt. but a few seconds in clydes is not worth the risk. especially in oly distance on up. of course every second matters but not at the expense of safety. you might could save more time taking a good dump before the race.

I hope y'all had as good of a day today as I did.  Great course, great weather (considering it's Georgia in mid-August), great support people.

"Thank you! Well done!" to the race organizers and everyone who helped.
