Swim
Comments: The water was real cold - but it didn't bother me too badly this time (did 2 practice swims last week). Still have one hell of a time getting a rythym and breathing in this cold of water. I belive that I was about 6 or 7 from last out of the water. What would you do differently?: Better wetsuit, more open water swimming, and get a coach to help me over this "plataue". Transition 1
Comments: Issues with socks, and with tri-top. Long transistion due to almost 2 minute run up the boat ramp to the area What would you do differently?: Nothing - everything went well Bike
Comments: Ran a real good race, maybe a little too hard due to run issues. First race on my new bike, and it was really fun passing people (actually blowing by them was a better description). What would you do differently?: Nothing - a great race, passed a lot of riders Transition 2
Comments: This went really smooth - the new speed laces are fantatic!!!! What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Lots of calf cramping the first 1/2 mile or so - had to do lots of walking. Got some water down, and things loosened up a bit. Last half of run went well, passed two people right at the end, one of them came back and we had a "sprint to the death" at the end. Not sure who won, it was real close What would you do differently?: Do more hard bike/run bricks in the hills. Post race
Warm down: Walking, endurox recovery drink, oranges What limited your ability to perform faster: training!!! Event comments: The racer organizers do a fantastic job - will be back next year!!!! Last updated: 2005-05-07 12:00 AM
