Ok guys, I need idea's on a short vacation

Champion  7136     Knoxville area |  Subject: Ok guys, I need idea's on a short vacationMe and my roommate are both off next week (Sept. 21-27) and need to get away from Knoxville. Thing is, we're not sure what the heck to do. Here's the stat's. 1.) Money is not "tight" or anything, but we'd both prefer not to spend too lavishly. 2.) 3-4 days is what we are looking at, we've both got fairly sick family members and don't want to be away too terribly long. 3.) We'll likely be driving, so keeping the drive to wherever within 7-8 hours is a must. 4.) Thing's we were throwing around... Rock Concerts, a Beach, Roller Coasters, (not sure about my shoulder/collarbone) Pub Crawls (both) that type thing. 5.) My roommate is a borderline alcoholic, and I'm bad to succumb to peer pressure on vacation... prefer to do it somewhere relaxed (not in a "club" or somewhere I'll end up in a fight) 6.) Love to eat fried crap. Lobster Rolls, Po' Boys, Hamburgers and Onion Rings top the list... 7.) Neither of us could be described as "Morally bound" so keep that in mind. That was my first thought given location, although that seems to encourage the one parties drinking issues. leaving in the morning for my first real vacation in years with my GF, driving to DC hanging out till friday morning, driving to philly for the day, head to parents in NJ friday night, cousins wedding saturday, sunday with family, NYC monday and drive back tuesday. We'll be hitting up zoos in each city since that i what the GF wants to do (she is a keeper at zoo atlanta) If it was a week earlier I'd say you could come on a fun vacation to atlanta and watch my cats  |

Bealle Street in Memphis is a really fun play to chill out if you like the small bar band scene. It should still be warm enough that some bands will be playing outside on the street. Plus you could snag some good BBQ and during the sober hours take in Graceland. |

Also right along the panhandle you have some awesome beach towns that are also 11 hours away. I grew up all along the Panhandle and right now is pretty sweet. From Pensacola to Fort Walton Beach to Panama City. |
