Get rid of it?!?

I thought we were supposed to tan the area, such that a shadow of the marking remains for weeks afterwards.

Although suntan lotion has always worked wonders (like before the swim even starts), patrolium based products such as baby oil, vasoline, etc. should work nicely.  The Magic sponge, or whatever it is that takes ink out of shirts, off walls etc., should also work with a few swipes.  I forget whether it uses an orange extract thing or whatever.

My daughter did a kids triathlon last year and her numbers washed off by the end of the weekend.  So she wrote the numbers back on before going to school on Monday morning!

OK, that's too cute

No no no!!! Do NOT use this on your skin! It is laden with formaldehyde, known human carcinogen..........I refuse to buy these at all. Prefer my carcinogens in the form of sunshine and beer and grilled meat and............

Old fashioned soap and a washcloth.  Works every time.

Ditto for removing chain oil tattoos from your leg.

Is it cute when a M50-54 does it, too? Not that I know anyone like that...

You can still see the tan line where the 61 was on my arm from the HI that I did in May.  I have been in the sun more times than I can count and for some reason it will not tan.  I guess I got a tattoo that I really did not want.  How Awesome is that!

agarose2000 - 2009-10-05 6:50 AM I was marked at my triathlon yesterday with a more indelible body marker - one that didn't wear off after the wetsuit swim (which usually happens.) I used isopropyl alcohol, soap, water, and even SimpleGreen, and it's not coming off.

Any other recommmendations?

Use a snuggles or what ever kind of dryer sheet you have in the house.  Those things can clean all kinds of stuff.

After 3 showers my numbers from yesterday are still going strong.  No worries though, it's cold where I work so I wear long sleeves and pants, but if it was hot I would display my numbers proudly!

If you have any spray on sunscreen, that stuff will take 'em right off....

and coffee!

But to the original point, I leave mine on as well.  I wear long sleeves and pants on the job, so the only one who sees the numbers are myself and mrs gearboy at home.  Baby oil would work, as well as mineral oil (which is what is in baby oil, along with fragrance, and a hefty price mark up)

spray sunscreen, baby oil or deodorant (anti perspirant) seems to work most of the time

Why they some times come off before you even get out the water - when you put your sunscreen on.... or at least that is what I have realised for me.

mroudabush - 2009-10-06 7:58 AM Try WD40

If that doesn't work try duct tape or bailing wire.
