Subject: IF you were a one-year-old girl...

what would you want for your birthday??  My neice's bday party is this weekend, and I have yet to get and SHIP her something.  Any ideas folks?  I have a house full of boys here.  The other bitch is a dog.

Gymboree makes adorable clothes for little girls. Matching hats/dresses/socks, etc.

She has more clothes than my sister knows what to do with (and has to launder).  Ya know, get them an expensive toy and they play in the box it came in for hours......

I second the books idea . . . my daughter has always loved books of any kind.

Another cool gift that my daughter loved at that age (and still does) is a small photo album of her own. You could start it out with pictures of your family and then her mom can include pictures of family, pets, friends, her house, or anything else that is special to her. My daughter always loved pictures of her stuffed animals :0)

art supplies are good too- non toxic sidewalk chalk, crayons, multi colored paper with textures..... they make really cool "paints" that are for the bathtub....

Those were my two favorite books to read to my kids.  I read them Guess How Much I Love You, almost every night for 3 years.  Even now, every once in a while, they'll bring it out adn ask me to read it to them.
