I'm not, but I know a bunch of my friends are doing it.  Should be good weather.  Have fun.

I'm going, but the best I could do on a hotel room was 20 miles away for Friday night.  Anyone have any rooms reserved that they don't  need?

I've never done anything like this before, and I'm trying to figure out how to dress/layer as it looks like it could be chilly in the am and pretty warm by the end.  Does anyone have any wisdom to offer on that?

I'm coming from about 150 miles so that 20 miles seems pretty good

Be cold at first, you'll warm up riding and you can have too much on really fast.

I faxed my form in on Tuesday. I've never rode more than 40 miles before. This should be interesting.

This sounds like my Ironman Training plan.
We would probably get along.
I'm not going, but good luck, you'll be fine.

Arm and knee warmers or a windbreaker that folds up really small (most cycling jackets fold up well).  Short sleeve jersey underneath.

Sounds like a good plan.  Thanks for the advice!  I just bought arm warmers and some fancy-shmancy Assos shorts, so hopefully, I'll be comfy for the ride!

Totally fun ... had a blast. We watched Weather Channel and let the last real shot of rain (not drizzle... RAIN) pass through about 8 AM before we started, so we got most of the day in without any real weather problems except WOW the last shot back to Salisbury from the beach was windy! Aid stations were great. Ton's of food and lots of space to stretch out. Lines were manageable, even at #1. Five us rode mostly together, and I got my first experience in pace lines WHOOOOOHOOOOOO flying! Absolutely doing this again next year ... I had a lot more fun than Baltimore Half Marathon (which I did in 2008 ... nothing bad about Baltimore but also nothing special about that course, in my opinion).

X2.

I had a total blast. That was so much fun. Definitely doing it again next year. This was my first century. Previously, I had only been as long as 40 miles. But I had no issues with this ride. The rest stops were perfectly placed, though the water line at Assateague was too long.

My fastest 10 miles were the last 10, so I still had something left in the tank. I got behind some tandem bikes that were really rocking and drafted off them for a part of those last 10 miles.

I have never seen so many cyclists before. I did not know there were that many in Maryland let alone for one ride.
