Good morning Ghoulies!!!

Only a few days left - let's keep it up!!!

A couple of questions for the team...

I am running a 5k on Nov 14th, this will be my first, any advice?

Second - I ran a little over 5.5 miles on Sunday, I felt good, no problems. I noticed last night I have a VERY large bruised area on one of my thighs. Could this have come from running? Is it something I should be concerned about? I can't really think of anything else I would have done that would have caused it.

Have a great day everyone. I have a 4 mile run planned for this evening.

Morning Ann!

5K advice - Start out slower than you want to so that you don't cook yourself right off the bat and then kick it like never before after you pass 3 mile point.  Finally have a great time and enjoy it.

No help on the bruise but my mind wandered to being on top

Have a great day!

I'll echo Bill's advice.  I've only done a couple of stand alone 5k's and I think every time I have gone out too fast and struggled that last mile.  Try saving a little something and kick it in at the end.

*savin a little somethin somethin toppage*

Not sure what to make of the bruise.  I've never heard of anyone developing a bruise just from running, but that's not say it couldn't happen.  Maybe it's from all that clamoring to get on top

My ride home yesterday was pure torture.  A headwind the whole way home and being on my mountain bike made for a long slow ride.  There was no steady about it

Man was I glad to be home when I finally made it!

I'm convinced that tailwinds don't actually exist.

Morning everyone else.  Snuck another aqua jog in last night - 1 more and I am done.

Contemplated a real run later this week but on my walk into the office my IT Band (very quietly) acted up so that put that thought to rest.

I have about a 10 minute walk in from free parking (so I can spend more on bikes ) and I figured it was a good test.  Failed

You guys are all doing a great job!

Nice job on the aqua jogging.  Sorry to hear the ITB wasn't a fan of the 10 minute walk

I got in a fantastic 6 miler last night.  Felt good from the get-go so I pushed the pace a little.  Still felt great by the time I brought it home.  That's the first time that's happened in awhile.

Great run Neal - sounds like Marathon recovery is over and done with!

I guess it is for the best because if it did not act up I would be dumb and go run
