stultzt - 2010-11-17 7:02 AM So at the finisher expo, they had a very small number of Mens finisher jackets (except in sizes small or XS).  The associates told me (numerous times) that they were "shorted" a bunch of boxes of mens jackets from K swiss and they'd be sending out an email to all participants allowing us to order a finisher jacket online, before they'd go on sale to the general public (via shopironman.com).  Obviously this was quite dissappointing after waiting (what seemed like forever) in the line, day after the race, with my 1 year old son...

Has anyone received this email or heard any news on what's going on?  I've emailed numerous contacts at shopironman.com and Ironman - with no response as of yet.  Just curious if I'm missing something (which may very well be the case).

Congrats to all the Finishers!!! The "Ironman" Bug has bitten me and it's off to Ironman Louisville in August 2011!!! (still not full in case anyone's interested)...

Yes, Lara the warehous manager responded to my inquiry stating that an email should be going out at the end of this week with information on placing a special order for the Men's Finisher Jacket.  They were making sure there were enough actual jackets to allow for the special order for having the stitching done for the logo ... etc.

I am anxiously awaiting the chance to order the jacket as well.

Thanks for the info on the jackets would you care to post on here when you get your e-mail ?

Absolutely, will do.

F1longhorn - 2010-11-18 12:15 PM Briana I saw you at J&A's scoring the free gear while I was waiting in line. I would have said hi, but you left before I got out of the line. Definitely cool to hear Macca's perspective as the race unfolded. It's hard to imagine actually "racing" at that distance.

Yep, I got him to sign my bib from IMFL.  Pretty cool.  And yes, I cannot imagine "racing" that distance.  I can't even run ONE mile in 5:30, much less run that pace or a little "slower" for the entire 26.2.  Amazing guy.

BTW, I haven't gotten the e-mail from ASI yet either.  Frankly I liked the process and the quality of the pictures from IMLP in 2008 much better.  Prepaid at registration, picked up a memory stick with the pictures the day after the race.  Pretty simple1

Email from ASI just arrived, I assume they all went out at roughly the same time.

I got my email from ASI.  Which is all fine and dandy except that I didn't order any pictures.  Thanks for the free pictures, ASI!

Tongue out

They sent me the wrong link.  I've e-mailed 3 different people and haven't heard a word.  Yell

I take it you finally got your photos?  Sorry it was such a hassle, and that you originally got mine instead!

I finally finished my race report.  Whew!  What an undertaking.

No contact on my end.  From what I have heard from others, finisher gear emails after a race typically come months later.  Here is to hoping IMFL bucks that trend.

I checked the online store yesterday for finisher merchandise.  Nothing yet.

Really interested in getting a finisher jacket.
I suppose I should have tried on the ladies to see if one fit.

Anyone signing up for IMAZ today?

I sent an email and it bounced.  Glad yours went through.  Been checking every day.  Seems like easy money for WTC to create enough jackets.  Probably $100 profit+ on each one.

3 weeks and I'm feeling pretty recovered but seems like our IM day was much longer ago than 22 days.

I finally finished my race report and posted it today. It takes awhile to load as it has lots of photos in it. Get a nice big drink if you want to read the whole thing.

Here's the latest reply from shopironman.com regarding finisher jackets...

Thank you for your interest in the IM Florida finisher jacket. We have decided to place a re-order which may be purchased on www.shopironman.com. There will be an e-blast sent to all out IMFL participants once they are completed in approximately 1-2 weeks. Please be aware that we will be ordering a selection of sizes, and we cannot take specific size reservations. ***Due to a high volume of holiday orders, email inquiries will be answered based on priority. Thank you for your patience.*** Sincerely,Lara HiltonWarehouse Manager

Enjoyed the report.  You faced a lot of difficulty and did a terrific job!  Way to go!
And thanks for the posts pre-race.  I lurked almost every day leading up to the race.
Hoping to do the race again in 2012.  Good luck next year!

Enjoyed reading the RR Kathy,
Hadn't realized during the leadup to IMFL that you were having issues with Lyme's Disease. Holy smokes...Kudos for starting, let alone finishing!

I think I'm finally out of the woods as far as recovery.  I entered a small 5k a couple weeks ago and managed to PR with 1 21:59 time and take 3rd place AG.
Yesterday, I got on a treadmill and was just running for fun, got within about 2 miles of my 10k and realized if I pushed the pace a bit I would PR.  So, knocked 30 sec off my 10k PR.
Gotta love IM training...Seems like things that used to be difficult have suddenly become easy in comparison.

I am glad to know I'm not alone feeling like the race was months ago! I've been pretty sluggish since: a few short rides, easy runs, no swimming. Took part in a pickup basketball game with some friends a week ago - a sport I'd been avoiding for a year for fear of injury. It was really fun. Need to get my race report together!

Been having fun putting together a 2011 schedule (no IM this year - 2012 maybe...) and making a training calendar for the next few months. I'm going to start Jorge's cycling program this week and finally do some speed work after nothing but endurance basework for the last few months. I'm re-energized and feeling like a champ still!! Great experience. Wow.

Thanks very much for posting, just ordered my jacket.  No, I didn't receive an email as well.  Was actually going to wait on that email before surfing through IM online store, what a mistake that would have been.  Thanks again for posting.

Mostly so the link is on this page -- I just ordered mine as well.  sure hope they can fill the orders.  I didn't get one for the last IM I raced, and wish I had.  Nice jacket.  I tried on Glen's.  Would have stolen it, but he kept a pretty keen eye out.

My recovery has been slow.  I can go do something short, but if I try to go beyond about a 1/2 hour, or try anything intense my body just says no.

Nice swim today, but again I was done after 1700 yards.  Stood talking for 15 minutes and was ready to go again.  And anything with my legs just won't work.  I've done a couple of 2 mile runs, but after 20 to 25 minutes things just start hurting.  Before then it feels wonderful.

Guess my body just needs more time.

I googled recover from ironman, and got several good articles.  Also started a thread in ironman discussion.  KathyG posted some good resources.

Enjoy your recovery.   you guys that are already running fast impress me.

Anyone who got a jacket do they know how they fit to size? I usually wear medium t shirts which are on the verge of snug and usually larges are just too baggy so im almost inbetween. I was thinking about ordering a large. Dont want a snug jacket. How did everyone elses fit?

I got one the morning after the race: they definitely have an athletic cut to them - long arms and good length. Most jackets I own are XL for sleeve length, but I got a L and it fits really well. The XL was baggy to be honest. I'd say fit to your torso and the arms will be fine. Hope it works for you.
