I hope weather helps this year, last year's wind was blowing hard from the south and west. I also hope to be fully recovered, I just did Ironman Arizona, I tried to sign up for the half but it was sold out so I said what the heck, I'll do the full. I'll be the one puking on mile 21, hehe. Hope not to gross you out. Smile

I'm doing the full... my first one. Hats off to those of you who run the full 26.2 regularly. By far the hardest thing I've trained for (mentally and physically) to date. Even harder than my HIM training. I guess the focus and increased running mileage needed for training is what's hitting me the hardest.

Good Luck on the race! I will be there cheering on friends. I agree with the last post. The marathon is more difficult to get right than a HIM. Of course, the only 2 marathons I've done have had 90+ percent humidity. I have not been able to get through a long run on days like this w/o having GI issues. I hope the weather is better than we had at San Antoino a couple of weeks ago.

I will be doing the half marathon! First time for me to the WR Half Marathon!

Although it will be my 4th stand along half marathon this year. I have been feeling so bad lately when I run, I hope I can reach my goal time and have a good race. Right now I'm not too hopeful.

It's all about fun baby!! This is why we do all this, right? Just pace yourself for the first thirteen (maybe join a pacing group slower than your usual pace) and then push hard the last 10k if you have anything left, in White Rock, the two miles between 19 and 21 are particularly tough, you start to be afraid when you see the guys in drag dressed up as Dolly Parton. If you are good after the Dollies you will have a great race!

But don't forget the fun part!
And turn down the beer on mile 21, you'll throw it right back up, hehe.

This is going to be my first full marathon. So far, the training has been hard and really boring. I probably won't do a full again unless its attached to an IM. I like the variety of tri training much, much better. I am still excited about the race though. Two more weeks!!

Hey Trey, didn't we meet at a group bike ride a couple of months back? I think so. Nice to see you finished IMAZ and became an Ironman!

I would see you at the WR 1/2 mary but there is no way I can run a 1:50 half!

I'm there for my first half too.  Should be interesting...I'll be the one in a blue TXU (my company sponsors us...free entry!!) shirt, trying not to pass out at mile 10.  Although there are like 20 TXU relay teams, so that may get confusing.

Doing  my first stand alone Full Mary. Did Ironman Mary in 4:30 last year and I've been pacing to run a 3:30. Tapering now and I feel great. I'm confident I will get it!!

I was also wanting to shoot for a 3:30 Mary but that would be unrealistic, I just did an Ironman and my legs are blown. I think I'm gonna go with the 3:40 pacer and try to hang on. If I have anything after the Dollies I'll push a harder pace and if I don't I'll suck it up and finish whenever.

I think that you could totally do it. 2-3 weeks of recovery and a few runs. You can do it.

Hope everyone is having a good taper. Don't let these cold mornings ruin a good taper. Bundle up, stay warm, and run free.
