I'm in! I also haven't registered yet, but I've been training. This year will be my third time doing this race.

Y'all are crazy!    Well, crazy to register in advance anyway.

Actually, I was planning on doing it but my trip to Hawaii prevents me this year.  How many times do you think I can bring that trip up?

Hawaii?!?! Shut up.

And Slahmmer, it will be my third too. Two years ago, it was GREAT weather. Last year... not so much...

Ok, so gotta be honest. Haven't actually registered for the race yet. I have been training, but with the snow, cold, etc its not been what I would have liked. In addition, if its -15 on race day morning I'm not sure I'd even show up. Hopefully this warm spell sticks around until the following weekend! I'm just hoping for positive temps, is that too much to ask?

Nope.  I've got the same battle plan.  I'm gonna keep my eye on the 10 day forecast.  Yup.  I'm a cold weather wuss...

Jon Yuhas said on Kare 11 there's a storm abrewing for the Winter Carnival time frame, although he admits it's really too soon to say for sure.  Good luck, guys!  Hopefully it will be a soft, warm, snow at most.

In my experiance it is better to wait until race day registeration and pay the extra 5 bucks.  Of course, I'm a wimp.

Looking on weather.com at the 10-Day Forcast, next week (the week leading up to the Half Mary) has highs in the lower to mid 30s every day!! That's GREAT racing weather! There are some possible snow-showers predicted Wed-Fri, but who knows what will happen that far away - it's all a "guess."

I still need to "OK" signing up for the race with my wife tonight, but I hope to make it official later today or tomorrow...

That WILL be great racing weather...especially in MN in Jan!

I'm out.  I have a family activity in Oakdale Saturday morning, but will be thinking about you guys and your 'ideal' weather.  I have run this event several times.  Prior to the last one, I thought the Porta-John I was using was gonna tip over from the wind.  I think your biggest problem this year will be slush and wet feet.

Good luck all!

Wish I could.  I have done the 5k several times and really like this race.  Unfortunately I think I'm just getting to the point where I am feeling more confidance in my calf muscle and would hate to reinjure going back up that steep hill in the end. Have fun.

It was a fun race! I took a lot of videos as I was running, and I hope to have a video put together by tomorrow. But in the meantime, here are some screenshots from those videos from during the race:

Amazingly the conditions weren't too bad. Some cold rain for about 1 or 2 miles, but the footing was good and it wasn't extremely cold! All in all, the weather was about as nice as could be expected.

It was a fun race,   I picked up a friend early in the AM that day and parked in his drive way... well... i tried to park in his driveway.   My car slid back down to the bottom of a very slight incline IN PARK!  The roads at the race were great though, although going down the hill made me very nervous at the start.
