How do you clean your strap? I have the Garmin HRM strap that came with my 310. I was thinking about unsnapping the wireless sensor and soaking the strap in warm soapy water. Any suggestions?

That's all I do...I'm still using a 6 year old Polar HRM, with the original strap (yes hard to believe but true), and I just let it soak in warm soapy water every 3-4 weeks.

We've been known to throw the strap part (not the sensor part) in the laundry with the workout clothes at our house. It seems to turn out fine!

I have had my 305 strap for a few years and it gets washed in the shower, sink, laundry and it hasn't started to have any problems.  I always hang dry and don't have a problem.

Wow, you guys are so clean.  I use to hang mine on a hook on my peg board after my runs, but then I found out the sweat was dripping off the strap and into the bag I keep my fuel belt bottles in.  yuck.

X2 on throw it into the wash with your workout clothes. It seems to do the trick and keeps the stench at bay.

You're supposed to wash those things? I just throw mine back in the gym bag after a quick rinse to get the salt off.

X2 on the HRM Strap?  Now my IPOD Holder on the other hand is bad.  I tried to wash it and it still smells.  I need a new one.
