Pre-race routine:

Arrived a late and had to rush to get my transition area ready. Met the Co B.T. crew, Stacers, luv to ride, Alpine, Matt and Shannon. Didn't get a warm up in.
Event warmup:

None. But did stop to get Gatorade and slammed a Powerbar. No bonking for me.

Comments:

Started off a little skittish. Kept getting hit in the head. Hard to get my rhythm. But after I rounded the first bouy all was good. I turned it on and left the back.
What would you do differently?:

Go a little bit harder on the first 200. Do a warm up.

Comments:

Took it REALLY easy on the run. Wanted to try the legs out. This was the first run since the bonk and I didn't want to push things. I felt a little cramp in the hammy's but nothing I couldn't handle by breathing.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Maybe push a little harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Drinking Gatorade and talking to Bters.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My fat butt. Also I have to find a race pace. All my races I treat like training and I don't go out as fast as I should.

Course: Well this was funny. I was doing the short course and they had a short course set up with a turnaround for a 2.5K but there was no 2.5K so I had to go around again to complete a 5K. Ughhh. But I didn't quit at 2.5 finshed the race like a trooper. But that meant I had to run on all sandy and trail.

Way to go!!  Glad to see you back out in the heat - and doing well!

Wish you had done the long course with us - you just would have swum one more lap.  I'm still hoping to draft you in the water

Nice race Ovetta - it was good to see you last night!!  Next time you have to do the long course, when your legs are fully recovered

That sucks that you had to go back out on the run course - the 2nd time I saw you I just thought you were just putting in some extra mileage!

Hey that extra run made you tougher!  Nice job, glad to see you out there after your bad ride fiasco!  See you next time and good luck in Boulder!
